The 2015 presidential candidates have taken the battle to the doorsteps of leading spiritual fathers in Nigeria. While Buhari courted the pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye led Redeemed Christian Church of God, President Goodluck Jonathan has sought for solace in the Bishop Oyedepo led Winners Chapel.
Sahara Weekly’s check revealed that the president was hosted by Bishop Oyedepo during the service today at Canaan land, Ota Ogun state.
According to our correspondent on ground, the presidents helicopter landed around 9am during the 3rd service. Decked in white Agbada, he was welcomed by the Bishop. After a brief chat, he ushered him in at 9:45am and introduced him to the congregation.
“He tanked the congregation and said it has been his desire to come but he couldn’t because of this tight schedule.
He tanked them for their prayers and he admitted that it’s Nigerian’s prayer that has kept the nation going”.
“He claimed he came to do something in Lagos yesterday and thats why he was opportune to come today”.
Bishop then asked the church to pray for the president.
Insiders revealed that the presidents visit was connected to the secret meeting he had with Bishop few days ago where he expressed his disappointment on the role played by the Pastor Adeboye led RCCG in conniving with APC to pick Prof. Osibanjo as Buhari’s running mate. According to reports, Bishop promised to assist the president in wooing the christians to his side.
