The 2015 Ogun State Governorship candidate, Unity Party of Nigeria, Otunba Rotimi Paseda has urged Nigerians to live in oneness and unity for the sustenance of the peaceful co-existence of the country.
Otunba Paseda made this call at the weekend during the 2016 Igbo Day organized by the Ogun State Chapter of Ohaneze Ndigbo held in Abeokuta, the State capital.
He emphasized that, the nation’s unity is the only weapon for the protection of the diversity among Nigerians, stressing that the call for break up of some parts in the country would only threaten the economic investment of the country.
Paseda who was conferred with the chieftaincy title of Ezi Onyi Ndigbo of Ogun State by Igwe Eze Willy Ejimnkonye (Omereoha 1 of Ogun state), said “the unity of Nigeria is the only weapon for the protection of indivisible entity of the country.
“No doubt, the driven economy contribution of the Igbo community in state cannot be underestimated. I want us to disregard any insinuation in some quarters about the call to separate the Biafra from the peaceful coexistence of the country, this would only threaten the economy investment of the country.”
While speaking, the president, Ohaneze Ndigbo, Ogun State, Ichie Iwuoha Uzodimma said the Ohaneze Ndigbo in the country is committed to the sovereignty and indivisibility of the country, saying the group would not support, encourage or finance any separatist group.
