The Edo state police command have confirmed the arrest of some hoodlums responsible for unrest in Idun-igie Umokun – Nokhua Village, Orhionwon local government area of Edo state.
The arrest is in connection with the brutal murder of a farmer, John Igiehiduwa, aged 65, who was killed on his farm.
According to the police, the hoodlums confessed to have killed Mr John Igiehiduwa due to the involvement of his son, Elvis John in a homosexual act that led to the death of one Destiny Gabriel, a relative of the hoodlums.
Prior to this, Elvis John had a case regarding his involvement in homosexual act with the same Destiny Gabriel in 2012. It was disclosed by the police that Destiny Gabriel died and Elvis John fled to an unknown destination immediately after the act in order to evade the hands of the law.
However, in September 2020, he was seen on the streets in Edo state and was promptly arrested by the Edo police command for his involvement in homosexuality.
During interrogation about his whereabouts, Elvis John confessed that he fled Nigeria to a European country for his safety but was deported to Nigeria in March this year
Unfortunately, during the EndSARS crisis in October when unknown thugs invaded police stations in Edo state, Elvis John found his way out of prison and has not yet been seen anywhere.
Following his escape from the police custody, he was promptly declared wanted and this led to the hoodlum’s manhunt for Elvis John’s life.
Furthermore, they confessed that they killed Elvis’s father to retaliate the death of their relative, Destiny Gabriel who died on account of his involvement with Elvis John.
