Police place N5m bounty on Canada based Nigerian Eboni Rachel Osazee Iyonmana over alleged cyberStalking, defamation

The EDO State Police Command has declared one EBONI RACHAEL OSAZEE IYONMANA wanted and placed a bounty of N5m, five million Naira for her arrest for the offence of defamation of character of the EDO State chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Festus Alenkhe JP.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Speaking with journalists at the Police Command Headquarters in Benin City, the Edo State capital, the Police Public Relations officer, Chidi Nwanbuzor, said that the accused is wanted by the police for the offence of defamation, Cyberbullying, Stalking and false information to the members of the public through social media such as Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp and YouTube.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

According to the Force PPRO, “it could be recalled that on the 11th January 2023, the Commissioner of Police CP MOHAMMED Adamu Dankwabo received an official petition from the chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, EDO State chapter, Comrade Festus Alenkhe against one Eboni Rachael OSAZEE IYONMANA over offence of defamation of character.

 

 

 

 

 

 

“In the course of investigation, the suspect was declared wanted in Police special gazette bulletin. The Unit wrote a letter to the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Force CID Annex, Alagbon Close, Victoria Island, Lagos and investigations has revealed that the suspect is in Canada.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

According to the PPRO, the accused had alleged that the petitioner used to wool women, particularly those in overseas by collecting huge money from them after which he dumps them.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

“She has further opened multiple Facebook accounts using the petitioner’s photographs and full names, using demeaning and derogatory languages to defame the petitioner’s character and personality.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

“All those messages she transmitted in those communications on those social media platforms was done to look as if it was Festus Alenkhe that was sending those messages and that brings to mind the offence of impersonation added to the already outlined charges.

“We want to therefore use these medium to inform the general
public that those purported Facebook accounts and those messages were created by the suspect, Eboni Rachael OSAZEE IYONMANA and not by Festus Alenkhe .

“The Police Command has received enough copies of the special Police gazette bulletin and has been distributed and pasted in conspicuous places with a booty in the sum of ( N5,000,000:00 ) Five million Naira only.
