Police Sgt, others arrested over related crime in Lagos

A 36 years old police Sgt Oluwaniyi Janusin, serving officer posted out of Lagos State command to Osun state since last year has been arrest for impersonating police officers within the state metropolis .

 

 

 

Nemesis caught up with him and his compliance when a video circulating on social media recorded by a lawyer over nefarious act on how they being extorting money from innocent citizens with huge amounts claiming to be police officers from command .

 

 

 

 

 

The suspect with one of his group, a 42years old Maxwell Agudah,a commercial driver and two others who is at large will accost motorist take them round for about six hours from one place to another before they will eventually collect huge amount of money from them ,immediately the video get to us we sworn into action and got them arrested at Oshodi last week.

 

 

 

The two suspects were arrested at Oshodi while acting as traffic managers and attempting to arrest a woman for alleged traffic offence,immediately the woman raised an alarm that led to their arrest, while their accomplices escaped.

While briefing pressman at command headquarters Ikea, the public relations officer SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said we used this medium to appreciate the lawyer who brought this video to limelight and alerting Lagosian to the activities criminals and also commend him. We urged people to emulate him to speak out when they see anything going on in the society is wrong.

In another related development 11 traffic robbers were apprehended at different areas with heavy vehicular traffic which includes suspected cultists, traffic robbers and armed robbers were also arrested in Lagos.

Lagos State police command arrested 32 suspects, including 17 cultists, 11 traffic robbers, two armed robbers and two impersonators in one week.

He said that two of the suspects belonged to a gang using police uniform to kidnap young men driving flashy cars and libelling them Yahoo Boys.
