In a communique signed by elders and indigenes of Orogho community, which was made available to journalists in Benin, the Edo State Capital, they reaffirmed their support and commitment to the Oba of Benin and Edo State government over a 14,000 plus hectares of land’s duly given to Presco Plc by late Oba Ereduawa of blessed memory, Edo State government and indigenes of Orogho community.
According to them, “We are not against the 14,000 plus hectares of land given to Presco Plc by the late monarch and Edo State government and the entire indigenes of Orogho village but rather we are against the alleged 2,500 hectares of land of Orogho community currently been claimed of ownership by Presco Plc, where as the 14,000 plus hectares of land that was duly approved to them have not been fully used by the self acclaimed Presco Plc.
“That the ongoing speculation by Presco Plc that 2,500 hectares of land has been allocated to them by government is untrue and false has no base and should be disregarded by the general public.
Meanwhile, elders and indigenes of Orogho community have vowed to resist any attempt by Presco Plc or any individual encroaching on their land illegally will be resisted in all means, adding that they won’t be deterred from taking legal action against such persons.
