PRESS STATEMENT BY AMALGAMATED

APC SUPPORT GROUPS, LEADERS

We are the Amalgamated All Progressives Congress (APC) Support Groups, Coordinators, our Procession and press statement today is to express our loyalty to our party and solidarity with our Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and his running mate, distinguished Senator Kashim Shetima.

We are equally here to show solidarity, with all the APC candidates running for election, into various offices, in the upcoming elections.

Most importantly, we are here to notify the National Secretariat of our party, the majority decision to effect a change, in the leadership of the Amalgamated APC Support Groups, and also request for their support and cooperation.

We are concerned over the deteriorating state of the management of the affairs of Support Groups, and the sentiments we all share, over the poor handling of issues that concerns Support Groups. We have earlier made complains, to the national leadership of our party to exercise it responsibility, to address the anomaly arising from the want of an effective and functional management of the affairs of support groups, under the Amalgamated APC Support Groups (AASG) led by Dr Nasiru Mohammed Ladan.

Suffice to say too, that the administration of Dr. Ladan Lacks direction, focus, coordination ability and drive. He has not been able to carry everybody along. He is elitist, harsh, unavoidable, and sadly too, he has lost the support and followership of the APC Support Groups Coordinators.

We are constrained to take steps to arrest the damage caused: The support groups leaders, in a unanimous decision, have passed a ‘No Confidence ” vote, on the Director General, Dr Nasiru Ladan, over his incompetence and maladministration.

Having exhausted all internal avenues for attention and intervention on our grievances against the DG, within the party, we are left with no other option than to remove him.

We demand from the party, it’s total support and cooperation, in this regard, in order for peace and harmony to reign.

We will sustain our efforts to ensure that our party stays true to its ideals and commitments. We assure all members of AASGs that, we will continue to express views and opinions inimical to the interest of support groups, and success of our party in all fronts, as well as resist anti-people and dictatorial actions from all quarters.

As the elections draw near, we the members of the Amalgamated APC Support Groups, Coordinators, call on the National Leadership of our great party, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and our Presidential Standard Bearer, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to immediately hold a parley with the APC Support Groups, with a view to hearing us, discussing with us and mobilizing us for the task ahead.

Support Groups are the eyes, ears, nostrils and foot soldiers of the party, and therefore the need to ensure that you get the best out of us cannot be overemphasized.

We are already behind schedule, as the elections draw very near, and cannot afford to loose more time tolerating an individual’s incompetence and dictatorial actions.

Let us make it clear that we are resolute in our decision to replace Dr Ladan with a more credible leader that has the capacity and team spirit to lead the Amalgamated Support Groups towards ensuring successful outcomes for our party at the polls.

We are not only resolute, but irrevocably committed to defend and stand by our decision in the interest of our teeming members, the candidates and the APC family.

We have taken this action in good faith and collective interest of all
