In compliance with the All Progressives Congress’ rules and regulations for electioneering, the governorship candidate of the party in Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun has inaugurated his campaign committee.
The campaign Committee is to be headed by a past Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Prince Segun Adesegun who was named Director-General. Hon. Iziaq Abiodun Akinlade who was a former gubernatorial aspirant is the Deputy Director General.
Hon. Bimbo Ashiru and Prince Tella who were governorship aspirants of the party were also appointed as director of finance and assistant director of mobilization for Ogun West respectively.
Other positions announced were those of Senatorial Directors for the campaign; and they include Hon Ganiu Hamzat for Ogun Central, Hon Akande J Omoniyi for Ogun West and Arch. Opayemi Opadunni for Ogun East.
Other sub-committees in the campaign structure include Administration, Special Duties, Planning and Strategy, Media and Publicity; Welfare Services; Women Affairs; Protocol; Mobilization and Contact; Reconciliation and Conflict Resolution; Programmes and Event.
While making his remarks at the event which took place at Chief Olusegun Osoba’s House in Abeokuta, Prince Dapo Abiodun reiterated that his government will build on the laudable work and achievements of Governor Ibikunle Amosun if elected in 2019. He also promised to deliver good governance to the people of Ogun State; focus on improving the lives of civil servants, and implement programmes that will encourage development and growth. These include a revamp of the agriculture sector which he described as an avenue for creating jobs especially since, as he said, Ogun is an agrarian state.
The APC Gubernatorial candidate said further that he would work to improve, further, the ranking of Ogun on the local and global ease-of-doing-business index while education will be free for students up to junior secondary level. He also pledged to build on the social welfare program of the Buhari administration for women, the aged and the disabled.
Extending the olive branch to all party faithfuls, Prince Abiodun concluded by calling on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State to unite for the task at hand and for the good of the people. He reminded them that there is a good reason why the quote “Unity makes strength” is the national motto of several entities and countries including Belgium, Bolivia and Bulgaria.
