Project Caucus, a Non-Governmental Organization which is geared toward taking the needs of the elderly people in our society have provided a free medical care, fellowship with them and also fed the aged in the entire Ashaiman circuit of the Methodist Church.
Speaking at the event which was recently held on the 21st September 2018 at the Ashaiman Methodist Church, Naomi Chai, vice president of the NGO, stated that taking care of the elderly people in the society is a dream come true for the NGO because “our parents especially the aged have contributed so much to the grooming and success of the young ones in our society therefore taking care of their needs and ensuring their healthy is a way of saying thank you to them that is the NGO has dedicated 21st September of every year to provide such free medical care, feed them and many more to the elderly people in our society”.
She bemoaned how people have marked residents of Ashaiman with various stigmas such as stealing, disloyalty, armed robbery and other social vices which is demoralizing and highly unacceptable because Project Caucus was founded 7years ago by a young group of people who were born and raised in Ashaiman and they have been taking care of the aged long before the NGO was formed so she therefore pleaded with the public to stop associating Ashaiman with social vices and also solicited for funds and support for the NGO “ Project Caucus” to enable them stretch their tentacles and keep organizing this annual program for the elderly in our society.
