…Free Medical Consultation- Medical personnel were on ground to give free consultations, check Blood pressure and offer advice.
On Saturday, 12th December,2020,at KOREDE EVENT CENTER ,Arigbajo, Ewekoro,Ifo Ogun State, Nigeria, Mr Elijah Olukorede Thomson together with family,friends, colleagues and guests launched the ELIJAH THOMSON CARING HEART FOUNDATION. Beneficiaries and well wishers of the ETCHF started trooping in as early as 7am.
The colorful launching commenced at 12noon with prayers and a beautiful rendition of the National anthem by the Omo Oba Band, this was followed quickly by the rendition of the Ogun State anthem.With a heartfelt praise and Thanksgiving, Elijah .O.Thomson was urshered to the high table.
The Chairman of the occasion, HON. Kehinde Odeneye, gave a heartwarming speech, he stressed the need to help one another, and that being a rich person doesn’t equate millions in the account or several houses and cars, but the need to spot a loophole around us and cover it up, help the people who can’t help themselves. He pleged to partner with the ELIJAH THOMSON CARING HEART FOUNDATION to give scholarship to two children from the foundation.
He also encouraged youths to actively participate in politics, identify with a political party, register as a candidate, contest, go out to vote for the leader they want. He stressed that the #ENDSARS protests opened eyes and opportunities for the youth, it showed that there is strength in unity, it’s not enough to #sorosoke but to get involved.
Excerpt from the chairman’s speech:
“Firstly, I greet everyone here today, I also congratulate Mr Elijah Thomson on today’s launching. I extend my greetings to the Royal Father’s on the high table for their support. We all have to celebrate with the celebrant in order to be calebrated too. It is not by the number of persons in attendance,but, by what can be achieved with few persons.
” Today,I am here to be a part of the kind-hearted persons who will assist the less privileged in our society. True wealth is when you love the people around you and you always seek development for your home town, state and country at large, someone who uses his personal assests and resources to satisfy bothers, this is truly what Elijah Thomson stands for.
“When there is no growth in the community, there is no way anyone will think of developing the community or to assist the less privileged.
” Elijah Thomson through his foundation has brought growth and development to his community as well as other States, he indeed lives and cares for his people. When I asked him what he wants to do when he just returned from America, he replied that it’s not time for politics yet, but time to give, help the less privileged with some part of what God has blessed him with. I will partner with the ELIJAH THOMSON FOUNDATION and give scholarship to two school children”.
Also in attendance were APSTLO OkanlomoSamuel , Founder St Mary C and S church ,USA, Agbaosi, he donated #100,000 to the ETCHF, Chief and Chief Mrs Remilekun Adisa they donated #150,000 and promised to make it a yearly obligation and Mr and Mrs Moses Olateru, they made a donation of 100,000.
In the course of the launching, ETCHF gave scholarships to four children up to University level. Also, they Sponsored teenagers who are interested in learning different trades and promised to set them up machineries and instruments necessary to start their trade.
Also the foundation pleaded with Parents , teachers and the foundation should work hand in hand to create a better future for the kids they enjoined the students not to misuse this opportunity and to see it as a ladder to greater heights.
The students were adviced to read n work harder for the betterment of their family ,nation and most especially their individual lives.
Widows were not left out as the foundation presented Grinding Machines to two elderly beneficiaries, who were finding it hard to survive.
Also, another beneficiary got empowered with numerous packs of soft drinks to add to the little she had prior to the foundations intervention.
The beneficiaries were full of praise to God and the ELIJAH THOMSON CARING HEART FOUNDATION.
ELIJAH OLUKOREDE THOMSON was born to the Thomas Oludademu Akinsanya family (Baba Adajo) in the year 1968 Eliiah Olukorede Thomson attended Alapako Sogunje Primary School, lfo,Ogun State, Nigeria After which he went to Lagos African Church Secondary School (LAFRO GRAMS) lfako Agege, Lagos State, Nigeria. He went back to Liberia in the year 1988 where he completed his Secondary Education at William VS Tubman High School He proceeded to University Of Liberia (UL) when the War started and he had to return to Nigeria with just the Secondary Education results without University result. He then wrote SSCE Exams and went back to Osun State College Of Education, Ilesa, Osun State from where he graduated with Music Double major He had taught at Camp David Junior and Secondary Schools, Queensland Junior Secondary School all in Ogba, Ikeja and Okota, Lagos Nigeria respectively. He Traveled to the USA in the year 2002 where he attended Hanna Harrison Center For Career Education, Washington DC from 2002 to 2004/2005 and he became a Nurse.
He has since then worked at Different Nursing Institutions and Hospitals including FutureCare, Genesis health Care Services, ManorCare and briefly University of Maryland all in the USA. Using his Nursing Expenences, he runs A Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Company called Elikort Transport Services LLC, A Cargo Company, Elikort Delivery Services all in the USA and Elikort Sublime Int’l Nigeric Ltd. With Keen Observations into our Communities In Nigeria after several Visits and Medical Missions, he decided to start “ELIJAH THOMSON CARING HEART FOUNDATION” ETCHF – with The Aims and Objectives to help the Less Privileged In Diverse Students and etc, Physically Ways Challenged, Widows and Widowers, Youths Empowerments, Free Medical Missions etc all these to be happening in different parts of the Country. Hence the Launching to Kick Start In Ogun State being His state of Origin. The Foundation with Supports from people like him has been SUCCeSSfUl in helping the Masses including but Not limited to Covid- 19 Relief.
Launching the Foundation on 12Th December, 2020, Elijah Thomson wishes to open it to helpers in order to enable us do more in our society.
