In few hours time, Benin Film Academy Half Hour, (bfa1/2 hour) a record breaking 30 minutes Social, Style and Entertainment Variety Programme, scripted, packaged and directed by students and graduants of Benin Film Academy will hit the screens.
This is the first time in Nigeria and the sub-Saharan Africa that students of a film school will achieve such feat.
The programme according to the founder of the school, Ambassador Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen, will hit the screens on Independent Television, (ITV) Benin, tomorrow Wednesday July 3, 2019 at 6 pm and on Delta Broadcasting Service (DBS TV) at 4 pm and Saturday 1pm on both terrestial and satellite stations.
According to the visioner, Lancelot, who will be celebrating 24 years behind the camera tomorrow, “The vision for creating BFA half hour was bore out of our desire to constantly engage and provide a visible platform for our products.”
“At Benin Film acadtemy, it’s not just about the teaching but more of hands on practical. We also provide opportunity for our products to continually find a space for expression.”
“The scripts are written by them, produced by them and presented by them. Ours is just to supervise.”
“What this does is to foster trust and belief on themselves to be able to face the rigors and struggles of the industry.”
BFA half hour a production of Benin Film Academy, according to industry observers will open a new window to young sets of actors who intends to learn the trade of movie making through the right Chanel.
It will be an avenue for Niger-Deltan States to provide an alternative means of livelihood for their teeming youths.
Admission is currently on-going for new set of young minds who wants to become their dreams.
