REPORT: How Shehu Sani got ₦100m, others ₦50m each to impeach Saraki, Ekweremadu

LeadersNG gathered that the late night invitation of the senate president, Dr. Bukola Saraki by the Nigerian Police over Offa Robbery and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s invitation of Ike Ekweremadu was aimed at impeaching the two principal officers of the Senate as buses loaded with the All Progressives Congress Senators loyal to the executive were already heading to the National assembly from the Transcorp Hilton Hotels.
The Senators LeadersNG learned, were given N50million each with exception of Senator representing Kaduna Central, Senator Shehu Sani who got N100million to usurp the leadership of the senate.
Sources at the Nigerian senate told LeadersNG that senator Shehu Sani was the one who leaked the information of the planned defection of the legislators to President Muhammadu Buhari.
Shehu Sani had before now been at the loggerhead with the kaduna state governor, Mallam Nasir El-rufai.
A Nigerian senator who pleaded not to be named told LeadersNG that Senator Shehu Sani is a betrayal and a snitch.
“He attends our meetings as a member of r-APC but barely talk”.
“If he was not a betrayal and snitch, why didn’t he defect with the rest of the r-APC senators”?
“We met and agreed to sign the list of senators that were defecting, only for Senator Shehu Sani to decline, saying why the rush since they’ve all agreed to defect on Thursday.”
Senator Abdullahi Adamu was the one who shared the money that was given to the pro Executive senators by the presidency.
Many of the senators LeadersNG spoke with expressed disappointment with their colleague senator who they learned is even planning on reconciling with governor El-rufai. One of the senators said, President Buhari is working hard to reconcile both senator Shehu Sani and Malam Nasir El-rufai.
Meanwhile, Senator Shehu Sani in response to LeadersNG news flash, said “Dear Editor sir, this is not true, Thank you”
