press Release: Movement of Police Area Command- Engr. Akinbola Fatitegun

Engr. Akinbola Fatitegun
I was shocked to hear the news of the location of Police Area Command in Ibokun town. It is not in my character to bring into Politics to very important security issues. But we leave at a time when mundane politics determines everything. May, I remind our people that Ijebu-jesa was the capital of Oriade LGA that once included Obokun LGA. The news of moving the Area Command Office is an affront to the collective sensitivities of Oriade people in general and Ijebu-jesa in particular.

I have established communications with the leadership of the police authorities both at the Federal and state level. The reason they gave for playing out Oriade LGA is that there is an Area Command office in Ilesa which is very close to Ijebu-jesa, the undisputed administrative headquarters of Oriade LGA and the Political Headquarters of Ijesa North federal constituency. A casual look at this position seems very cogent but a deep look shows that there is more to it. If Ijebu-jesa is very close to Ilesa, what of other towns in Oriade like Ipetu, Ikeji, Owena etc that would have gracefully hosted the Area Command Office.
The reason for the movement is not far from the fact that everything about Ijesa North has been wholly centered on Obokun LGA. From our recent history, Obokun LGA has produced every important political office holder Hon. Member House of Reps. State Chairman PDP, a national officer of PDP and very many more.

I have since offered myself as a credible alternative to the people of Ijesa North to ensure even spread of developmental strides and bring federal presence to all our people, in all our villages. We will ensure the even development of both LGAs without leaving any behind.

I call on all our brothers and sister, fathers and mothers to Support the ambition of Engr. Akinbola Fatiregun for the sake of fairness and equitable distribution of government presence.

Engr. Akinbola Fatitegun
Aspirant for Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency.
