Saturday, November 6th is Anambra’s date with history

As the great people of Anambra state gets set to go to the polls on Saturday 6th November 2021 to elect their Governor for the next four years, the people of the state have a date with history to affirm their absolute faith in and loyalty to democracy by trooping out enmasse and orderly to the polls to cast their votes for the candidate of their choice in an atmosphere devoid of fear, intimidation and inducement and shame enemies of democracy who are threatening the peace and democracy of our dear country.

We call on the people of Anambra state to shun all acts inimical to peace, tranquility and the growth of democracy by ensuring that they come out bravely, massively and peacefully to vote for a candidate of their choice to take Anambra state to the next level of peace, progress and development.
We equally call on the security agencies to provide grade A security before, during and after the election and ensure that any attempt to undermine peace and orderly democratic process in Anambra state, is met with the full force of the law.
We also call on the political parties and candidates to mobilize the electorate for a massive turnout, continue to preach peace, be focused on their manifesto of moving Anambra state forward and refrain from acts that is at variance with the rules of engagement.
We call on the media and the local and international observers to ensure that their actions in the discharge of their responsibility during the election is in tandem with the tenets of professionalism, objectivity and neutrality in order to deepen our democracy.
We as well call on INEC the electoral umpire, to ensure that it has crossed it’s T’s and dotted it’s I’s with regards to the timely and effective deployment of men and adequate and functional materials to the field on election day so that the process can be free, fair, transparent and credible.
To the party agents, we call on them to recognize that their roles to the successful conduct of the election cannot be over-emphasized due to their conducts at the polling stations and voting points, they must ensure order and decorum and not engage in any act that might undermine the peace of the election.
In conclusion, it must be emphasized that the successful and credible conduct of any election is dependent on the collaboration and cooperation of all the stakeholders to play by the rules and so we are admonishing all the stakeholders to place the larger interest of the society far and above any other interest for the sake of peace, progress, development of Anambra state and Nigeria’s democracy.
At the Committee for the Protection of Peoples Mandate (CPPM), we wish the good people of Anambra state, a peaceful, fair, transparent and credible election as they keep a date with history.

God bless Anambra state,

God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Thanks.
Yours Sincerely,
Nelson Ekujumi,
Executive Chairman.
