The National coordinator, Society for Educational Administrators of Nigeria (SEAN), Mr Babatunde Asenuga has attended the 5th Faculty of Science International Conference held at the Lagos State University (LASU).
The conference which was themed “Cutting edge research: A gateway to National development” was attended by science scholars from various countries and institutions.
In his keynote address during the opening ceremony, the Chief Executive Of the Society for Brain Mapping, Dr. Babak KATEB reiterated the benefits nations derive from scientific research.
Dr. Kateb who also doubles as the President of World Therapeutics LLC, CA, USA tagged his address as the “Impact of Scientific Research on National Development”.
Speaking at the event, the conference Local Organizing Committee (LOC) chairman, Professor B. S. Aribisala disclosed that about 160 abstracts were submitted from scientific disciplines from about 30 higher institutions across 8 countries which include Canada, Libya, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, USA and the United Kingdom.
He stated that the scientific disciplines include Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Fisheries, Botany, Zoology, Agricultural Sciences, Biochemistry, Microbiology, among others.
He added that all abstracts were peer reviewed by experts who were carefully chosen based on their field of specializations and contributions to knowledge in the field of science and added that a total of 45 reviewers were involved in the review process
