Second Republic Senator Olorunnimbe Farukanmi has poured encomium on the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwumi Ambode over his significant role in re-invigorating the economic re-integration of the South-West geo political zone.
He is singularly pleased by the recent decision by the governor to make Lagos a vibrant member of the Oodua Group of Companies. His delight is hinged on Ambode’s pledge to invest billions of naira to acquire vast acres of land in the hinterland states of Oyo, Osun, Ondo, Ekiti and Ogun for modern farming in order to ensure food security in Yoruba land. This laudable move will no doubt through industrialization create jobs and spread prosperity in the west as it was when the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo (of blessed memory) pioneered the agricultural revolution of the then Western Region.
The Senator under the Unity Party of Nigeria noted that Ambode has become a model of what good governance is all about, just like in the days of Awolowo.
His words: “He is a pride not only to Lagos, but the entire Yoruba land, with what he has achieved in two years. With his role in the economic integration, the Yoruba land is on its way to full economic independence” he said.
Besides, he heaped praises on Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu for his foresight in discovering Ambode, who has turned out to be a revelation in the last two years, by building on the solid foundation he laid.
He also commended the vision of Ambode on the Cleaner Lagos Initiative in which when fully implemented will turn waste to wealth as been done across the world. Ambode is a pride to the Yoruba nation and entire Nigeria.
Meanwhile, he asked Ambode to keep his eyes on the ball, as he appealed to him to work closely with the governor of Ondo State, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu in order to help develop the economy of the state. This is because of the similarities both share being riverine states.
He charged the entire Yorubas, to cooperate and support Ambode on the laudable plan for the region.
