Smart Oluwole Apejoye Foundation (SMOAF) to Empower vulnerable persons in Education

The Smart Oluwole Apejoye Foundation (SMOAF) says it’s set to empower vulnerable persons in education To mark a year remembrance that Smart Oluwole Apejoye passed on.

 

 

 

 

Mrs. Idowu Apejoye, the widow disclosed this during the ceremony to mark the one year anniversary of the death the late husband in Lagos.

She said that SMOAF is a non- governmental foundation established in memory of an illustrious and public – spirited Nigerian, with a vision for a better Nigeria.

“Today marked a year that Smart Oluwole Apejoye passed on to glory. This foundation is set up for his memory and to continue his commitment to achieve the goals he set while he was alive.

“We are doing this because this is what my late husband loved to do, he loved education, he wanted to solve people’s problem and put smile on the face of people.

“So we are trying to keep my late husband’s legacy and continue to promote all that he lived for while he was alive.

She said that no fewer than 10 persons are benefiting right away from the educational Fund and they intend to pay the school fees of the beneficiaries annually.

“If we have more funds we can also support them with educational materials so that these ones will not drop out of school but have a good education.

“This project will take care of their education from primary to the completion of their secondary education”, she added.

The guest speaker, Barr. Jude Ologun encouraged the youths to be well-behaved and focus on their education, knowing that education is the bedrock for success.

“They should strive for excellence in their studies because education positions them to be great men and women in the world.

“Smart Oluwole Apejoye was an established Businessman, Philanthropist, Public Affairs Analyst and a stickler for good governance, Distributive Justice and equal opportunities for all, irrespective of tribe or creed.

“He was politically active and extremely concerned about using governance and education as an instrument of achieving egalitarianism and social justice”.

Ologun noted that SMOAF is a vehicle of driving the cherished desires and interests of Smart, in offering support to less-privileged students to further their education, through Yearly Enforcement Funds.

“It offers support to vulnerable individuals through little grants and gifts, contributing to the development of the nation through social commentaries positive interventions and active involvement”.

Another guest lecturer, Pastor (Mrs) Olanike Rotimi-Andu advised the youth to focus more on education saying that education is not a scam but the key to success of everything in life.

“It helps in bringing new innovation to prepares our youth for citizenship,”we should know what career that will help us now and in the future to earn a good living.

“Youths should never allow quick wealth destroy them but always focus on what will give them peace of mind”.

In his goodwill message, the Director of information and public relations Lagos State University Science & Technology (LASUSTECH) Lanre Kuye described Smart as irreplaceable.

“He was an individual who never wanted venurable persons to suffer rather making sure they are well satisfied.

“I stand bold to say that if am to talk about friendship, Smart could do anything for you, he’s one of those that are very passionate about helping people”, he added.
