There is palpable tension in Somolu/Bariga local council of Lagos state following renewed cult clash which has now claimed no fewer than 20 lives in the past two months.
Investigation by Sahara weekly reporter revealed that the killings was a result of rival cultists who are on reprisal show of supremacy in the area to revenge the death of their members. It was gathered that the killings may continued if urgent security measure is not put in place in the area .
Investigation revealed that the suspected cultist identified as one Makinde Abiodun aka Ma-Ke who was matcheted to death at a drinking joint two weeks ago had been responsible for the killing of others who are also faction of the same Aiye confraternity which led to his death as a reprisal. It was also learnt that Makinde who is known as higher killer in the area has unsettled score with the leader of the other faction of Aiye, one Ahmed aka small depot before his death.Investigation revealed that residents are afraid of the reprisal attacks from Makinde faction because many innocent ones have already been killed since the crisis started .
