…CAN Meets Clerics
—
There is presently an alleged plot by the federal government of Nigeria led by President Muhammadu Buhari to arrest leading Christian preachers in Nigeria.
A concerned source inside Aso Rock, according to a statement sent to this medium, leaked the plot aimed at arresting Christian leaders allegedly starting from the respected founder of The Living Faith Church worldwide a.k.a. Winner’s Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo and the founder of Omega Fire Ministries worldwide (OFM), Apostle (Prof.) Johnson Suleman, who are the main opposition voices to the reported Islamization agenda of the Buhari-led administration.
This medium gathered that, based on the report which first emanated in January 2017 when the Department of State Security (DSS) reportedly set the trap for these same Christian lights, Bishop Oyedepo and Apostle Suleiman, leaders of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) which is the umbrella body for Christians in Nigeria, have been duly informed of the latest plot said to have been spearheaded by the Islamist elements in the Buhari regime.
On this note, the CAN leaders are not treating the latest report with kid gloves as they had reportedly met and consulted with Oyedepo and Suleman and other Christian leaders who the statement claimed have also been marked for arrest.
The statement also alleged that the said Islamists are planning to achieve their aim allegedly by conniving with certain state security networks to plant arms and ammunition on properties belonging to these two top Christian clerics after which they would be arrested and accused of sponsoring terrorism.
Both Oyedepo and Suleman, for several years, have been vocal against the alleged Islamization plot of the Jihadists in Nigeria. Videos of Bishop Oyedepo leading his flock in prayers against the Islamist terrorists have gone viral in recent months. Recall also that, Apostle Suleman’s fiery messages against Islam fundamentalists in government also attracted the attention of the DSS which resulted in the failed attempt to abduct him while on ministration tour in Ekiti State, thanks to the doggedness of the State’s governor, Dr. Ayodele Fayose.
The statement also claimed that the Christian leaders have been marked for attacks in other various ways which may start to manifest anytime soon, except Christians in Nigeria keep vigilance.
