The Selfless GAJ… Hon. Ganiyu Abiodun Johnson

 

Being Selfless is an act not so common in many of our leaders in Nigeria of today but Hon. Ganiyu Abiodun Johnson stands tall in this regard amongst his political contemporaries not by words but by actions.

Hon. Ganiyu Johnson, a member of the hallowed Green Chambers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is a model politician in a class of his own. Representing the good people of Oshodi-Isolo Constituency 2, Hon. Johnson exemplifies the true meaning of a public servant.

A revered engineer, Hon. Ganiyu Johnson rose to the Zenith of his career as the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and Infrastructure in Lagos State before he was appointed as the Special Adviser to the then Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN on Works and Infrastructure, and subsequently the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure in Lagos State during the administration of Governor AkinwunmiAmbode.

Hon. Johnson during his spell as both SA and Commissioner was instrumental to major infrastructural landmark projects in the State to include but not limited to the first of its kind Lekki-Ikoyi Cable Link bridge, Okota-Surulere Bridge, Ago Palace-FestacRoad amongst many others.

GAJ as he is popularly called has impacted immeasurably to the people of his Constituency since he was elected as a Member of the Federal House of Representatives two years ago through various interventionist policies and projects.

He made it a point of duty to regularly and continually interact and engage his Constituency through the inventive Meet Your MP program, Hon. Johnson initiated the FOOD4ALL project during the Covid-19 lockdown to support the vulnerable in his Constituency.

Hon. GaniyuAbiodun Johnson has also embarked on series of construction, renovation, and rehabilitation of schools and classrooms across his Constituency. He procures JAMB, WAEC, and NECO forms for indigent students with free tutorial coaching. GAJ also avails his people of different skill acquisition programs and empowerment projects for the youth and women.

Little wonder why just midway into his tenure as a Federal House of Representatives member, the yearnings and clamor of his people for him to continue the good works has enveloped the entire Oshodi-Isolo Constituency 2.

As we inch closer to the 2023 general elections in the country, we hope and look forward to seeing more of the likes of GAJ – a selfless politician
