Of a truth, there is no smoke without a fire! There have been ongoing rumors about the strained friendship between Tiwa Savage and Toke Makinwa, and these speculations were confirmed at a recent event held in Lagos, where both ladies were present.

 

 

Previously, Tiwa Savage and Toke Makinwa were known to attend events together, enjoy the nightlife, celebrate each other’s birthdays, and support one another. For instance, during Tiwa’s clash with Seyi Shay in 2021, Toke publicly stood by her friend, expressing confidence in Tiwa’s ability to handle any confrontation.

 

 

However, things took a turn for the worse between them in early 2022. Allegedly, their friendship suffered due to a romantic interest they both had in the same man.

 

 

The strain in their relationship became evident when Toke Makinwa failed to acknowledge or celebrate Tiwa Savage’s achievement of receiving an honorary doctorate degree from the University of Kent in July 2022.

 

 

Subsequently, the two celebrities unfollowed each other on social media, ceased spending time together, and refrained from exchanging birthday wishes. Interestingly, Toke Makinwa began showcasing a new best friend in her social circles.

Both Tiwa Savage and Toke Makinwa were among the attendees, yet they maintained a noticeable distance from each other throughout the event. Toke Makinwa opted for a stylish yellow abaya, while Tiwa Savage confidently rocked a denim-on-denim ensemble, accompanied by her vigilant bodyguard throughout the occasion.
