Three suspects arrested by OPC wrongly paraded by commissioner of police Lagos

A 19 years old apprentice and two brothers was paraded along over two hundred and fifty suspected criminals at the Lagos state commissioner of police, CP Hakeem Odumosu.

The alleged suspects ,Usman Faruq 19 years,Samuel Nnanna 35years old and Chidebere Nnanna 37year were arrested at car wash, bus stop of Iya-Oworonshoki area of Lagos State by OPC that they were with one Ugochukwu Udochukwu who stole 12V/75AH battery in the area.

According to the alleged victims ,we were arrested by 12noon on the 11th December at car wash by OPC member that we are the gang group of the suspect who was caught while removing the battery. “we did not know the suspect from anywhere, I was seeing my brother off to the bus stop who came to see on his way to Oshodi,before we were arrested.”

The 19 year old apprentice who was also alledged was on his way to Bariga before he was arrested by OPC,”I am being detained at Patani since 11th December, my parents are looking for me, police refuse to contact my parents or my boss where I am learning my apprenticeship, I am not a criminal”.he stress

While chatting with our correspondent, the suspect admitted that he stolen the battery but actually accused the victims wrongly due to the way OPC was hitting and beating me,,I not could control myself before i pointed at them of them at bus stop. They were not my gang group, I am pleading on they behalf that police should release them let me face the consequences.

CP Odumosu,while briefing the pressman at the state command, give his scorecards of 55days in the office as the commissioner of police Lagos State command, made arrests of 217 (two hundred of seventeen) suspects involved in crime and criminalities.

“I assume duty as the 26th commissioner of police Lagos State command on November 14th,2019, and the 55days had been quite eventful and tasking.
“it is worthy to note that the crime rate has drastically reduced within the period under review.
“since Nov that I took over till date the command have arrested 114 arm robbery suspect, 82 arrest for murder, 14 suspect for Cultism, 9cases of suicide, and also command successfuly foiled 22 armed robbery attempt while 7 armed robbery died”.he said

The command recovered 11 stolen vehicles and so far 2,300 motorcycle were impounded during the enforcement of the Lagos state traffic law.
