Tinubu Asserts Control: No Third Group In Lagos APC, Warns Against Political Discord
In a bid to quell internal strife within the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Lagos State, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has firmly declared that he only recognizes two prominent political groups, namely The Mandate Movement and The Justice Forum.
Witnesses report that Tinubu issued a stern warning against any attempts to destabilize the political landscape, emphasizing his commitment to those tirelessly working for the party’s continued dominance.
Notably, Tinubu singled out Cardinal James Odunmbaku, also known as Baba Eto, a key figure allegedly undermining the authority of Mandate Movement’s recognized Lagos Chairman, Abdullahi Ayinde Enilolobo.
The former deputy governor, Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, faced criticism from Tinubu, who questioned the management of her group, attributing the emergence of multiple factions to its alleged mismanagement.
However, Baba Eto denied supporting any faction and reassured the president of his loyalty, pledging to abide by any decisions made. During a meeting with members of the Lagos Governing Advisory Council (GAC), Tinubu emphasized the importance of political discipline, warning against a repeat of the previous general election’s losses in Lagos.
In a conclusive statement, Tinubu instructed Baba Eto to refrain from instigating any crisis that could impede vatious group’s progress, explicitly endorsing Enilolobo as the recognized chairman. The president urged Baba Eto to remain steadfast within the GAC, recognizing his critical role while advising against attempts to become a rallying point for the two acknowledged groups.
Tinubu’s recent actions in resolving political issues nationwide, including Ondo and Rivers, have garnered commendation, portraying him as a president for all Nigerians. The Lagos political environment has since calmed, with members of various groups awaiting the implementation of resolutions by the president, anticipating further guidance from Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
