The National Secretary, National Association of Proprietors of
Private Schools (NAPPS), Mr. Mazi Harbor, has tasked all delegates and
NEC members to attend it 11th annual national conference of the
association slated for 15th and 16th November 2017, tag “Garden City”,
River State, Port Harcourt.
According to him, the conference will serve as an opportunity for
members to get the needed documents that will provide the guide for
our onward development and growth thereby making us a respected
organisation of influence, value and national impact.
We must rise from the conference with a clear cut challenging message
to government, financial institutions and development partners to
channel resources to funding private educational service delivery
thereby making access affordable without compromising quality. If
they continue to ignore this it will be disastrous to our future as a
nation because the only hope of the sector remains the existence of
well funded schools. On our own, we must find creative ways of
sourcing cheap fund for our schools. It is a task that must be done.
He however, commend the leadership style of the great Amazon of
education Dr. Sally Adukwu-Bolujoko, National President, Otunba Yomi
Otubela, The Deputy National President/Director of Conference, Hon.
Martins Osakue, National Vice President of South-South Zone and Local
Organizing Committee for his untiring fatherly role and indeed all NEC
members.
In a joint statement by the National Publicity Secretary, Chairman
Mobilization and Contact Committee, Bishop Opukeme and the South-South
President of the NAPPS, Hon. Martins which was made available to
newsmen, said Governor Nyesome Wike of River state will grace the
occasion as special guest of honour.
