Two Died While Seven Sustained Injuries In Onitsha Auto Crash

Wednesday night, an accident occur at Upper Iweka, Onitsha, Anambra State as the driver of an articulated vehicle lost control, and rammed into a car coming from Asaba, Delta State. It was reported that two persons died while seven sustained injuries.
An eyewitness told Vanguard that the vehicle suffered brake failure.
Divisional Police Officer in charge of Central Police Station in Onitsha, Mr. Isa Abubakar, who confirmed the accident, said the injured persons were taken to hospitals, while the dead were taken to a mortuary in the city.
Isah said the number of casualties would have been higher were it not for the pavement at Asaba Park, which stopped the vehicle from ramming into the horde of commuters waiting to board vehicles to their destinations.
