Two Suspected Nigerian Internet Fraudsters Kill 40-Year-Old-Man For ‘Money-making Ritual’, Cut Victim Into Pieces

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sahara Weekly Unveils That The Nigeria Police Force says it has arrested two suspected internet fraudsters, popularly known as ‘Yahoo Boys’

 

 

 

 

 

Suspects were arrested for killing a 40-year-old man identified as Abdullahi Azeez for a money-making ritual

 

 

 

 

 

 

The crime was committed in Ogun State in June.l7.

 

 

 

 

 

The suspects, identified as Friday Abinya Odeh, aged 21, and Poso Idowu, aged 20, were alleged to have cut their victim into pieces and used him for a money-making ritual.

 

 

 

 

 

The statement issued by the state police command on Sunday said the suspects were arrested on September 22, 2022, following a report lodged at Owode Egba divisional headquarters on June 9, 2022, by the relations of the victim.

 

 

 

 

 

 

According to the statement signed by the spokesperson for the command, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the relatives of the victim reported that 40-year-old Azeez left his home in the Kobape area of the state on June 8, 2022, and had not returned since then.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

“Upon the report, the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole, directed the anti-kidnapping unit of the state Criminal Investigation Department to take over the investigation and unravel the mystery behind the sudden disappearance of the man,” the statement stated.

 

 

 

 

 

It added, “In compliance with the CP’s directive, the SP Taiwo Opadiran-led team subsequently embarked on the technical and intelligence-based investigation which led them to the hideout of Friday Abinya Odeh on the 22nd of September 2022, where the Airtel SIM card of the victim was recovered.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

“His arrest led to the apprehension of his accomplice Poso Idowu. On interrogation, the suspects confessed that they kidnapped the victim on the 8th of June 2022 at Kobape area, at about 7:30 pm, from where they forcefully took him to the bush, killed him, and pieces his body.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

“They confessed further that it was one herbalist simply identified as Arab money who they claimed to have contacted on Facebook that prescribed the ritual for them. All efforts to recover the remains of the victim proved abortive as the suspects claimed to have disposed of them.”

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The statement, however, stated that the commissioner, Bankole, has directed that the suspects should be charged to court “as soon as the investigation is concluded”.
