UNDP-The International Day of the Girl Child celebrates the power of girls and highlight the barriers they face, as declared by the United Nation General Assembly in 2011.

Other organizations also took to their social media pages to celebrate girls and commemorate the celebration.
The Youth Voices and Action Initiative tweeted, “In marking the #InternationalDayOfTheGirlChild Kilifi County has brought together girls from all it’s spheres. We are amplifying Voices of Girls, championing for protection and promotion of their rights.
