Budding Nollywood actress, Christabel Goddy has been charged to court after brutally attacking her colleague, Princess Chineke while on a movie set.
According to a report by Vanguard Newspaper, Christabel has been charged to a law court after she allegedly resisted arrest and assaulted a police officer days after she attacked and inflicted physical injuries on her colleague.
It was further reported that the actress, who is based in Port Harcourt, was charged to a magistrate court, sitting at Ogba, Lagos and is due to be docked on March 8, 2016.
This is coming days after the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, suspended the actress for the shameful act.
Both the victim, Princess Chineke and attacker, Christabel were on the set of a movie entitled Behind the Smile, in Iyana Ipaja areaof Lagos when the criminal act occured.
Speaking on the issue, the National President of the Guild,Ibinabo Fiberesima condemned Christabel’s act saying, “Cristabel shall remain on suspension until the outcome of the investigation as stipulated by the constitution of the Guild. The Guilds and Associations in Nollywood have been duly notified of the suspension while the National and state task forces have been kept on alert to disengage her from all sets pending when the suspension would be lifted. The Guild has set up a high powered committee headed by the National Chief Whip, Empress Eneh to investigate the immediate and remote causes of the matter.”
