We are tired of merger deceive – APSON

From Elvis Omoregie

The association of Private schools owners of Nigeria (APSON) has formally broken ties with the National association of Proprietors of Private schools (NAPPS) over alleged corruption and financial recklessness.

Other reasons adduced in a petition to the national leadership of NAPPS which emanated from Aiyudubie Chambers and endorsed by Barrister Austin Odigie, cited alleged incompetence, high handedness and intractable crises in national leadership of NAPPS, leading to the factionalization of the state chapters in the Country.

The petition also alleged that “APSON wish to commence a determination of the agreement you reached to merge/fuse with NAPPS within 21-Days'” which expired on July 19, 2017, also cited

However the petition made available to journalists in Benin City, recalled that contrary to expectations, APSON had since discovered that they were misled to endorse the purported merger with NAPPS in 2013.

It further alleged that APSON directed its members to formally notify “Edo and Delta states government and in particular, to revert to the status quo ante in 2013 (that all matters involving Private schools Proprietors in the states be handled through the elected representatives of APSON”.
