Birthday is a memorable day to humans to remember their days on earth and Prince Olumide Adegboyega Akindiya cannot be left out as he celebrates forty years today, on the 17th of August, 2020. The celebrant who hailed from Ikole-Ekiti in Ekiti State is a prince and his ancestors have been the Elekole of Ikole-Ekiti who double as traditional ruler and Paramount ruler of Egbe-Oba (Confederation of Obas) kingdom meaning that there are other State recognised 23 kings with their chiefs under towns and villages that Elekole covers but they are independent. His ancestors had been crowned king before 1900 in Yoruba land and before existence of Nigeria as a country.

Prince Olumide Adegboyega Akindiya is a multi award winning Lawyer, Notary Public, seasoned Writer and Principal Counsel of Olumide Akindiya & Co. Legal Practitioners & Notaries Public. He became a Lawyer in 2009; started private legal practice in 2012 and the same year unexpectedly started offering free legal advice and services; became Columnist in early 2014, but stopped in late 2015 owing to newspaper restructuring not caused by him; started receiving awards in 2015 and fortunately five awards in the same year in Lagos, Kaduna and Abuja; enjoyed interviews from Orisun TV, ON TV, TVC News, Rave TV, Bond FM, etc; became Notary Public of Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2018 and since then continue practising law, entertain interviews from media practitioners and continue research on legal writings.

The birthday lawyer had made much impacts over the years in his legal field, legal writings and using his law firm to render free legal advice and services to certain individuals, entertainers, journalists, growing companies and so on apart from clients. He started his first free legal services in 2012 having been called to Nigerian Bar in 2009 as Barrister and Solicitor of Federal Republic of Nigeria to an upcoming Artist, Tiwa Banks who was stabbed by her landlord’s son. From there to others which include K-Solo the popular producer; Joe EL Amadi of Kennis Music; fought a legal battle for years for aggrieved traders with former leader Alhaji Umaru Nagogo known as Seriki and others at Alaba Rago Market in Iba LCDA to bring a new leader, Alhaji Ibrahim Malami Ali 1 in the market who is now Baba Oja 1 of Alaba Rago Market recognised by Iya Oloja General, Chief (Mrs.) Folashade Tinubu-Ojo apart from being Chairman of Alaba Rago Market Committee for two years; contributed also to reinstatement of dismissed Police Officer who is now Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Sunday Oni; Association of Nigeria Theatre Art Practitioners (ANTP) Lagos branch; assisted few poor prison inmates to freedom; intervened in some marriages to avoid divorce; etc and free legal advice to individuals who sometimes are unknown callers. He had also used the avenue of being a Columnist with Hallmark Newspaper now Business Hallmark to render free legal advice to readers.

For entertainment companies, NGO, Community Development Association, organisation and media who witnessed his enormous efforts over the years or through a lot of recommendation had given him several awards. His notable awards include Legal Personality of the Year at Peace Achievers Award in Abuja, Legal Practitioner of the Year at Nigeria Media Nite-Out Award in Lagos, Entertainment Supporting Lawyer at Kaduna Entertainment Award in Kaduna State, Legal Practitioner of the Year at Lagos-Ikeja City Award in Lagos and so on. He was privileged to have been recipient of awards with Governors such as Gov. Nasir El Rufai, Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Gov. Dankwabo, former Gov. Ambode, etc; Senators such as Sen. Sheun Sanni, etc, Legal Icon such as Chief (Dr.) Mike Ozekhome SAN, OFR, Monday Ubani, etc; top Celebrities such as AY, Don Jazzy, Davido, Kiss Daniel, Alex Ekubo, Iyabo Ojo, Ayo Adesanya, Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, etc; Media companies and Icons such as the Nation Newspaper, Leadership Newspaper, Punch Newspaper, Babajide Kolade-Otitoju, AIT, TVC, Bond FM, etc; Security Experts such as former AIG Abubakar, former CP of Lagos Sunday Ehindero, CP of Imo State Dansuki, Religious leaders such as Pastor Olukoya, Prophet Ayodele, etc and other professional bodies.

While in a conversation with him on how he felt today, he said he wished to have achieved more in life at forty years particularly in law practice, book publication and personal achievement, but said he never underestimated what his Creator could do in making him achieve his targeted goals in future and count blessings that were unexplainable to eardrums. In the same vein, he thanked God for His faithfulness, unfailing love towards him and his family and privileged to be alive to see today and with faith more years to come. He was at the same time grateful to his clients (individuals, corporate organisations, land owners, communities, etc.), family, well wishers, associates and those who still believed in him during good, challenging and turbulent moment.
