WE’LL TREAT ALL PARTS OF OGUN EQUALLY – ABIODUN

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has assured the people of Yewaland that his administration would not shortchanged them in the scheme of things as all sections of the state would be treated equally.

Governor Abiodun who addressed the people at Owode Ketu in Yewa South Local government Area of the State after inspecting the State Hospital and Model School at Ilaro and the Ilaro-Owode road, said his visit to the area was to see things for himself.

He said local government areas have been directed to forward the list of three priority roads to the State Government for urgent attention, adding that a primary Health Centre and primary school would be rehabilitated in each Ward across the State to provide quality health and education to the people.

Governor Abiodun informed the people that his adminstration was encompassing, adding that an employment Portal would be opened to register graduates, skilled and unskilled youths in the State, urging youths in the area to take advantage of the opportunity.

The Governor who appreciated the people for their support during the election, however expressed disappointment at the slow pace of work on the Ilaro-Owode road, wondering why  a road contract awarded about two years ago had not recorded meaningful progress.

He said the contractor handling the project has been summoned to a meeting in his office to explain why the project was slow, assuring the people that the road would be completed.

On the model school at Ilaro, the Governor, Said his administration would take a holistic look at all the schools spread across the State with a view to converting some of them to vocational training institutions.

Also speaking, the Olu of Ilaro, and Paramount ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, pleaded with the government to provide the State Hospital at Ilaro with modern facilities and adequate medical personnel as the structures were still in good condition.

While assuring  of his continued support, Oba Olugbenle also called for the completion of the Ilaro-Owode road, saying it would help in boosting the economy of not only Yewaland, but the State in general.

Residents of the area who spoke earlier had informed the governor of the bitter experience they went through on daily basis as a result of the bad condition of the road, Youth unemployment and inadequate power supply that affects their businesses negatively.
