Who is after NNPC Ltd? Who Wants to Bring Down Nigeria?

*Who is after NNPC Ltd? Who Wants to Bring Down Nigeria?

1. Nigeria never ceases to come up with interesting developments. When you think you’ve seen it all in terms of absurdity, the next minute you are hit by another crazy incident!

2. Barely a day after the GCEO NNPC Limited Mele Kyari told the world during an engagement with the National Assembly that the second phase of Port Harcourt Refinery Rehabilitation was almost completed and may begin production in two months, youths numbering about 100 beseiged the refinery premises in the Eleme area of Port Harcourt and blocked roads leading to the area.

3. Not only that, these misguided youths started vandalising the pipelines and cables even as dozens of them vow to prevent anyone access to the roads leading into or out of the refinery.

4. If that appears strange and shocking, then what comes next was up there in a basket full of shame and absurdity: they even killed a cow and set up a mini party right there in the middle of the road, all in order to prevent access to the refinery, and ultimately, scuttle any move to restream the refinery plant. Haba!!!

5. Who is sponsoring those youths? What is their motive? Where is this brazen effrontery against the NNPC Ltd, and indeed the Nigerian State coming from?

6. We said we want the refineries back at all cost. We said we want to stop Petrolum products importation. We said we wish to see a country where an efficient supply of one of the most important commodities in the life of a Nigerians is not an issue. And then, like a bolt from the blues, we now have this situation!

7. Nigerians must raise thier voices against these acts of national sabotage and lack of patriotism, and fast too.

8. Our refineries must work and the government must act immediately to stop this unfortunate sabotage. Nigeria needs competition in the petroleum refining space if we are really serious about bringing down the price of PMS.

9. That NNPC is now a commercial entity should not mean infrastructure that are considered national assets like the Port Harcourt refinery should not be left unprotected!!!

10. The security forces, Nigerian Army, NSCDC and the Nigeria Police Force need to step in and ACT NOW before it is too late!

11. A stitch in time, they say, saves nine!

God bless Nigeria.l!
