The governorship ambition of the APC gubernatorial candidate in Ogun state, Prince Dapo Abiodun has received an endorsement from a first class traditional ruler in Yewaland-the Oloke Odan of Oke-Odan land, Oba Dr. Oluremi Fagbenro
The Oba threw his weight behind the Frontline governorship candidate, while he played host to the businessman in his palace at Oke-Odan.
Prince Abiodun had visited the Royal father to pay homage to him in continuation of his ward to ward campaign tour of Yewa South local government.
The Royal father who declared that the APC was the party to beat in the state assured all hands would be put on deck to ensure that Prince Abiodun emerges as the next governor of the state.
Oba Fagbenro said ‘I sincerely welcome our next governor to this palace and I want to urge you to develop Yewaland after you are sworn in by May 29th. Yewa deserves to have a university and I am appealing to you to translate this vision into a reality when you get there. Also, our roads are bad and I urge you to invest in building the rural roads’.
‘ We also urge you to address the disparity in the employment quota of the civil service. Our Sons are too few in the service and we have a few number of them who are more qualified to be employed. You are the next governor of Ogun state and that is why I am telling you so that you can address them holistically when you are sworn in’. He concluded.
Responding, the APC candidate appreciated the monarch assuring him of even distribution of dividends of democracy.
He promised to empower the local government councils when he becomes governor.
‘The local government councils shall be empowered so that they can also improve governance at the grassroots’ he noted.
The Business mongul was accompanied by a three-term member of the House of Representatives, Hon Abiodun Akinlade, Deputy governorship candidate, Engr Mrs Noimot Salako-Oyedele, house of Representatives candidate for Yewa South/Ipokia federal constituency, Barr Biyi Otegbeye, Director-General of Dapo Abiodun campaign organization, Prince Segun Adesegun among others.
