Zamfara PDP crisis: Supporters of Gusau petitions INEC against Dare’s brother
The supporters of Gusau led by Nasir Ahmed has petitioned the Chairman of INEC and copied the President of the federal republic of Nigeria and the Inspector General of police and all other necessary security offices in the state.
Titled: PETITION AGAINST ABDULAZIZ SANI LAWAL DARE SAN, WORKING WITH THE INEC, AT THE NATIONAL HEADQUARTERS, ABUJA
The letter simply reads:
I humbly write on behalf of the teeming supporters of Hon Ibrahim Shehu Bakauye Gusau to petition one Abdulaziz Sani Lawal Dare SAN, a brother to Dauda Lawal Dare, the Zamfara state PDP Governorship candidate whose election was nullified by a court of competent jurisdiction due to election irregularities.
The INEC officer is a legal personnel working with the department of legal services in the Independent National Electoral Commission at the National Headquarters, Abuja who is currently conniving and compromising the credibility, justice and fairness enshrined in the electoral law and the Nigerian Constitution, while discharging his official responsibility with the electoral Umpire.
It has come to our knowledge (we the supporters of Hon Ibrahim Shehu Bakauye Gusau) that the said officer has been working with some politicians in sabotaging the laid down rules and guidelines of the electoral body in their favour against other politicians who are contesting same political positions with those he is favouring for an interest best known to him.
The Chairman may wish to be reminded of the Court order on the nullification of the Zamfara PDP Governorship primary.
This court order has been seized by the said legal officer and put under the carpet, denying the INEC to get hold of the court order. While he is conniving with the legal officer of the INEC office in Gusau instructing her to do all she could to ensure his brother Dauda Lawal Dare re-emerged as the PDP candidate, denying our boss his right.
This act is now giving Mr Dauda Lawal Dare an edge over our candidate, which has grossly violated the provision of the constitution of the federal Republic of Nigeria and the electoral laws.
I am therefore petitioning the INEC over this gross misconduct of its officers against the principles of justice and fairness contained in the electoral act and the constitution of the Federal Republic requesting for the electoral umpire to remove this corrupt officer from working in the capacity he is presently in the interest of justice, fairness, peace and harmony.
Signed by Nasir Ahmed, the matter is already becoming a contending issue and as observed in the state, would definitely affect the peace of the state.
