Governor Ambode Flags Off Land Use Charge Payment in Lagos

The Lagos State Government, on Monday, February 19, 2018, flagged off the electronic payment of Land Use Charge in the state, thereby ushering in the phase-out of cash payment in revenue collection, effective from March 1, 2018.
During the formal introduction of the e-payment platform of Land Use Charge held on Monday, Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode became the first homeowner in the state to pay his tax into the newly-opened Land Use Charge Account at the Guaranty Trust Bank, Opebi Branch, Ikeja.
While delivering his remarks at the event, Governor Ambode said “I have just invested my quota by paying my Land Use Charge and I ask all residents/citizens to join me by courageously making a decision for prosperity and pay all their due taxes”.
He described the rationale behind the new development as important since the government should not preach and promise prosperity without leading by example. The Governor further urged residents and all taxable adults to be faithful to their civic obligations.
“Lagosians, with your full support, there is evidence that every kobo paid in taxes has been productively utilised in infrastructural renewal and development of the State in the last two and a half (2½) years. It is my hope that we have gained your trust and confidence to move this State forward. For every one kobo you pay as taxes, we will give greater value and comfort to all citizens without anyone being left behind”, Mr. Ambode stated.
Starting from March 1, the transaction process in revenue collection has now been made easier for residents and citizens of Lagos State who can now pay every day, any time and online on all payment channels at their own time and convenience. No payments or taxes would be made by cash across the state in order to ensure that the government improves on the quality of service delivery to the people.
“We should be able to pay our taxes from any bank, WebPay, Paypoint and mobile money platforms without any contact with government officials. The Lagos State Government is in partnership with Interswitch Ltd and all multi-layered payment platforms are to be deployed and used by all Government Ministries, Agencies, Parastatals and associated Companies/Units. Local Governments must quickly adjust their collection machinery to eliminate all leakages also. Do not pay into wrong hands anymore”, he advised.
Concluding, the Governor made an appeal to all taxable adults to be patriotic in this crusade. “That flyover or health centre you see is built from taxpayer’s contributions. The facility provided is for everybody irrespective of tribe, religion or creed. Let us show the rest of Nigeria what it is to be a proud Lagosian. Perform your civic duties. It is the right thing to do”.

There’s a curse working against Rivers state government House – Prophet Ikuru

The prophetic hall of fame, prophet Godwin Ikuru of Jehovah Eye Salvation Ministry has hinted that there’s a curse that is lingering in the Rivers state government House which makes people recalcitrant and obstinate.

Speaking today in Ikeja, the prophet insisted that until the curse is broken there won’t be peace in River State ” who will ever imagine that Fubara would stand up to Wike the way he has done, it’s like a movie to a lot of people, there’s a curse working against Rivers state government House,Peter Odili had serious fight with Rotimi Amaechi, Rotimi Amaechi and Wike had serious war that claimed lives,now it’s Wike against his very loyal political son, Fubara; these things are not ordinary,curse is at work, you can imagine Fubara making plans to probe Wike’s administration instead of looking for a way to reconcile with his political father, something is responsible for this vindictive attitude “.

He reiterated that the curse must be broken so that people can return to Rivers state ” as the prophet of the nation,I bound every blood sucking demon that has patterned the River State government House in such a way that the predecessor and the successor must be in conflict so that blood can be shed, in the name of Jesus Christ,let peace return to Rivers state so that the people of the state can have joy once again”.

The DG of Importers Association of Nigeria Taskforce , IMAN,Amb.Chijioke Okoro John has slammed one Okwu Nnabuike who claims to be the president of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Youths, calling for the removal of the Chief of Naval staff as a rascal who does not have a means of livelihood,who specialises in making unverifiable allegations in order to magnetise financial gain.

Speaking yesterday in Abuja ,Amb.Okoro said “I’m the DG of IMAN taskforce and I have over three thousand members actively working in the field , adulterated and oil bunkering was very high before the appointment of the current Chief of Naval Staff,I can tell Nigerians with every certainty that he has worked assiduously to curtail the act in the Niger Delta region,the president,Bola Ahmed Tinubu should ignore him because he is not speaking for the Ohaneze Ndigbo”.

He maintained that there’s no name like Okwu Nnabuike as far the Ohaneze Ndigbo is concern “I challenge Okwu to call for a meeting of Igbo Youths,if he’s truly representing the Ohaneze Ndigbo,he only hides under the banner to level unverifiable allegations with the quest of being settled, financially, the president should know that he has a very reliable and competent Chief of Naval staff”.

The prophetic hall of fame, prophet Godwin Ikuru of Jehovah Eye Salvation Ministry has called on Nyesom Wike, the former Rivers state governor not to crucify his political son, Fubara who he made governor of Rivers state for being recalcitrant and disobedient because he also did the same to Amaechi and Jonathan’s wife that aided him to become the governor of Rivers state.

The handsome prophet maintained that Wike should realise that Fubara is now the number one citizen in Rivers state because he is the current governor “Wike,leave Fubara alone,God deliberately allowed you to pick someone like you so that you can know how excruciating it could be for someone you aided to attain a particular position to start fighting you as you did to Amaechi and Jonathan’s wife,you dont deserve any sympathy because you’re only reaping the exact fruit you sowed ,so please stop crying and lamenting”

The prophet reiterated that this vindictive attitude of Wike will definitely make him have problems with the president, Ahmed Bola Tinubu “if you continue like this,you will definitely have problem with the president,you want people to see you as God,but you are not God and can never be God, please leave Fubara alone so that peace can return to Rivers state, Fubara is the man of the moment because he’s the current governor of Rivers state so please, let him breathe”.
