Tech Startup Brings Real-Time Solutions to Nigeria’s Logistics Sector

Published

on

Nigeria’s logistics industry is undergoing a digital shift as new platforms emerge to address long-standing challenges of cargo movement, transparency, and cost efficiency. One of the latest entrants making waves is Cargopas, a technology-driven solution designed to connect shippers, carriers, and logistics providers in real time.

The platform offers features such as instant booking, live tracking, and digital payment processing, aiming to simplify an industry often slowed down by paperwork, delays, and unreliable systems. With a wide network of carriers, it allows businesses and individuals to move goods more efficiently while monitoring every stage of delivery.

Analysts say such innovations are part of a broader trend in Africa’s logistics ecosystem, where startups are leveraging technology to solve infrastructural bottlenecks. By enabling real-time communication and greater accountability, platforms like Cargopas are attempting to bridge the gap between demand and supply in cargo movement.

Industry experts also point out that digital logistics could play a vital role in reducing costs for small and medium-sized businesses, which often struggle with inconsistent delivery services. With e-commerce on the rise and supply chains growing more complex, the demand for such solutions is expected to increase.

While still relatively new, Cargopas reflects the growing push within Nigeria’s tech ecosystem to modernize traditional industries, bringing logistics into a more connected, transparent, and reliable future.

Lt. Gen. Faruk Yahaya (Rtd.), CFR, former Chief of Army Staff, was awarded the Doctor of Science (D.Sc. The visit followed Gen. Buratai’s participation at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, where he joined dignitaries to celebrate the conferment of an honorary Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) degree on Lt. Gen. Faruk Yahaya (Rtd), CFR, also a former Chief of Army Staff.

Speaking on the visit, Buratai described it as both a personal and historic reunion with the respected elder statesman, with whom he has had long-standing ties dating back to his early years as a young officer.

“My relationship with Alhaji Abubakar Alhaji goes as far back as 1992, when I was a captain in the Nigerian Army. His wisdom, guidance, and patriotic service to Nigeria remain exemplary,” Buratai said.

Alhaji Abubakar Alhaji is widely recognized as a distinguished figure in Nigeria’s socio-economic and political development. Over the years, he has served the nation in several capacities, including:
