ON THE NEED FOR TRUE INTERNAL DEMOCRACY AND RESPECT FOR PARTY CONSTITUTION IN PDP CONGRESSES

Published

on

PDP’s Dwindling Fortunes Spark Concerns By Ifeoma Ikem

It is important for us as members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to reflect on our actions and commitment to the progress of our great party. If the same energy and strength we are now seeing in internal struggles had been deployed during election days, by now PDP would have been the only dominant political party controlling everywhere, especially in Lagos State.

It is therefore disturbing and unacceptable that some individuals, claiming to be leaders or aspiring candidates, think they can singlehandedly write the entire ward executive list across all their wards list exco in their local government. With due respect, such practice is sheer political recklessness and an insult to our constitution.

Let us ask ourselves:

Can one or two individuals who sit in a hotel room and secretly write all the ward executive names succeed in winning elections?

Can one man alone serve as party agent in all polling units on election day?

Will the ward leaders, who were sidelined and denied the opportunity to determine their own executives, be willing to work for the party in the election?

The answer is No.

Some of our members even go as far as wanting to dictate what happens in other local governments, rather than testing their popularity and strength in their own local government. If those you are supporting in another LGA are truly popular, credible, and ready to serve, then allow them to contest freely within their constituencies instead of imposing them through manipulation.

I have also been told by some that I “do not understand politics” simply because I refuse to manipulate or interfere in other local governments. As the Southwest Zonal Ex-Officio, my role is to strengthen our democracy within the party, not to impose candidates. How can I claim to know a local government more than its own leaders?

In my own LGA, Alimosho, I have seen members who never attended ward or LGA meetings for the past two years suddenly fighting for positions, more aggressively than those who have consistently sacrificed their money, time, and strength for the growth of our great party. During the last local government elections, they did not participate, yet now they seek leadership positions.

Unfortunately, I was informed yesterday that in some LGAs, members are fighting and even threatening one another simply because of congress positions. The question remains: are these individuals truly ready to serve, or are they only struggling to control executive positions for personal gain either to extort aspirants in 2027, to use the positions as bargaining chips with opposition parties, or to add them to their personal profiles?

We must not allow this destructive culture to continue. The PDP Constitution is very clear on how congresses should be conducted. Article 2 emphasizes that the party shall be guided by the principles of democracy and social justice. Article 47(1) states that “the organs of the Party shall be constituted through democratic elections,” while Article 25(1) stipulates that ward, LGA, state, and national congresses must be convened according to laid-down procedures.

Therefore, ward executives cannot and must not be written in hotels by a few individuals. Congresses should be conducted in line with our constitution, either through open congress elections or consensus as provided by the constitution not imposition.

We must also remember that PDP is the only true democratic party in Nigeria. We are not like the APC “Baba sope” military-style political associations. Those who normally manipulate congresses by writing names in hotel rooms have already been suspended and later defected to other parties, leaving behind a legacy of failure. Their bad example must never be followed again.

Nigeria and Lagos are winnable for PDP if we get it right, starting from our congresses. Let us return to the foundation of our part leadership beginning from the ward, upward to the LGA, state, and zone. That is the only way we can achieve true victory and reclaim power for the people.

Long live PDP! Long live Nigeria’s democracy!

Published

History was made today as TMoney Atlanta & L’america Recording Label, a subsidiary of Rehoboth Global Services Limited, officially signed Oladele Samson Oluwaseun, popularly known as Samygin, as its first artist, signaling the dawn of a bold new chapter in the global music industry.

The signing ceremony, held in Lagos, Nigeria was more than a corporate milestone—it was an emotional, symbolic, and generational moment for the label’s leadership. For Samygin, it was the realization of a dream nurtured through years of dedication and resilience.

For the management of TMoney Atlanta & L’america, Samygin’s signing represents much more than an artist deal. It is the beginning of a vision to merge artistry with innovation and strategic business growth.

“This signing represents our vision of discovering and nurturing unique voices that can inspire across borders. Samygin embodies excellence, creativity, and originality – values at the very heart of our label,” the company noted.

With bases in Atlanta (USA) and a strong international footprint through L’america, the label is positioning itself as a powerhouse in artist development, production, branding, and global music distribution.

In an emotional reflection, the Chairman of TMoney Atlanta & L’america Recording Label explained why Samygin’s signing is both a professional and personal journey.

“Today is more than just the signing of a contract; it is the beginning of a bold vision. With the onboarding of Samygin as our flagship artist, we are making a statement to the world—that we are here to build, to innovate, and to lead,” he said.

The Chairman revealed the deeply personal significance of the decision, noting that while Samygin is his partner’s nephew, the choice was ultimately driven by legacy and conviction.

“It was not an easy decision at first, but for the sake of my late mother-in-law, Pastor Mrs. Ann Jacobs, whose prayers and legacy continue to guide us, I accepted. This partnership is about more than music—it is about honoring a legacy and building a movement that will inspire audiences and bridge cultures through sound.”

For Dr. Ranti Jacobs Agbaminoja, CEO of the label and aunt to Samygin, the day was layered with both professional pride and personal emotion.

“Today is a proud and emotional day for me. As CEO, I see this as a defining moment for the label, but as Samygin’s aunt, it carries an even deeper meaning. I’ve watched him stay committed to his craft despite challenges, and seeing his journey align with our vision is truly remarkable,” she said.

Dr. Ranti also paid tribute to Samygin’s late mother, her cousin, who passed away in 2020.

“I know she is smiling down on us today, proud of her son. This is not just a business decision—it is a generational blessing. For me, it’s about legacy, partnership, and impact.”

For the young artist himself, the deal represents a turning point. Beaming with excitement, Samygin said he is ready to embrace the responsibility of being the label’s pioneer act.

“This is more than just a deal; it’s a destiny-defining opportunity. I’m grateful to TMoney Atlanta & L’america for believing in me, and I’m ready to give the world music that speaks to the soul,” he declared.

Industry watchers have described the partnership as a “game-changer”, predicting that Samygin’s first project under the label will set a high bar for upcoming talents. With the financial strength and global networks of Rehoboth Global Services Limited behind it, TMoney Atlanta & L’america has made clear that it is not just building careers—it is building legacies.

As the label officially launches with Samygin at the forefront, a new movement in global music is taking root—one that promises to merge family, faith, and business with sound that will echo across generations.

Business Tycoon Oluwasegun Rolland Elusoji Cries Out Over Alleged Threats to Life Amid High-Stakes Legal War with Adeseye Joseph Famojuro

Business Tycoon Oluwasegun Rolland Elusoji Cries Out Over Alleged Threats to Life Amid High-Stakes Legal War with Adeseye Joseph Famojuro

In a dramatic turn in an ongoing legal showdown, prominent entrepreneur Oluwasegun Rolland Elusoji has gone public with chilling threats against his life and that of his family, allegedly linked to his legal battles with influential figure Otunba Adeseye Joseph Famojuro.

Elusoji revealed that the threats began on August 26, 2025, when Famojuro reportedly called some of his associates, vowing to “finish me” and make him “disappear from this earth.” Famojuro allegedly taunted Elusoji, warning that he “does not know who he is” and promising to destroy his reputation nationwide.

The intimidation escalated two days later when Famojuro reportedly contacted Elusoji’s sister, reiterating threats against the family, including his elderly parents. “These threats have left my entire family living in fear, and we are genuinely concerned for our safety,” Elusoji said.

Elusoji claims that Famojuro’s campaign of terror has extended to people close to him, with repeated references to prior incidents involving an associate known as Auxiliary, signaling a dangerous pattern of intimidation.

Sources close to the matter reveal that the threats coincide with a heated legal battle between Elusoji and Famojuro, raising concerns that the intimidation may be a deliberate attempt to influence the outcome of the case. Legal experts warn that such actions constitute serious criminal offenses under Nigerian law—including intimidation, harassment, and threats to life—and could worsen Famojuro’s legal position if proven.

“Since then, he has been contacting individuals close to me, threatening them as well,” Elusoji explained. “He has repeatedly stated that he will make me disappear from this earth and further warned me to ‘go and ask what he did to Auxiliary.’ These threats have placed my family and me in constant fear. At present, the Nigerian Police Force appears so compromised that urgent matters like this are not treated with the seriousness they deserve, simply because he is in a position of power.” The Issue of Alhaji Mukaila Lamidi, a known Auxiliary, is quite a different case, as no one knows what transpired between them in Oyo state park issues, but the Elusoji Court case is both in the USA and Nigeria. So comparing both is not sensible at all.

“This is more than just a legal battle,” Elusoji continued. “It has become a fight for our very survival. We are appealing to IGP Kayode Egbetokun and all relevant authorities to take urgent action before it is too late.” This Adeseye has failed to show up in the Court case in the USA and Nigeria. So why go ahead to declare someone wanted or resort to a threat to the life of his loved Ones?

The allegations have sparked outrage among human rights advocates, who are calling for immediate protection for Elusoji and his family. Critics are questioning whether law enforcement can act impartially, given the alleged perpetrator’s influence. Who is afraid of Adeseye? Is it the police or EFCC? Is it because he is Governor Makinde’s ally, or is he the Governor?

Observers warn that the case could set a precedent for how citizens are treated when threatened by powerful individuals, stressing the urgent need for transparency, accountability, and protection of life—irrespective of status or influence.

As the legal battle rages on, the nation watches closely, with many calling for swift action to ensure that justice prevails and that no one is above the law.
