The Committee for the Defence of Human Rights Ondo State branch organized a one-day Bí-annual convention held on Saturday 5th June 2021 at Prospect College, Oke Aro in Akure with the theme: INSECURITY: The Collapse Of A Nation’s Sovereignty.









Discussants at the meeting were :








  1. Comrade Wọlé Olorunsuyi, a one-time National Treasurer of CDHR.








  1. Comrade Mrs. Akomolafe, chairman of Ekiti state branch of CDHR.








  1. Comrade Wahab Akinrinade, chairman Osun branch.








  1. Comrade Alalade, chairman Ọ̀yọ́ state branch of CDHR.









After the conference, some recommendations were made by the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights concerning the state of the nation.










Recommendations :










  1. That The initiative of local security network and state policing be fully supported and given teeth to function.











  1. That appropriate youth engagement program is pursued to raise the economic status of the young generation.










  1. That the appointment and postings of security personnel should reflect their training and experience rather than primordial considerations.










  1. That there is no other way forward than a complete restructuring of the country with a constitution that is truly a product of the people and a reflection of their agreement to live together as a country.









The conference was rounded up with an election of the state branch of the organization which saw the emergence of the following officers:










  1. Comrade Alfred Olorunwo, aka Black  –  Chairman









  1. Comrade Obasanya Akinsanya – Secretary










  1. Comrade Patrick Agbi – Treasurer.

His experience in serving the party couple with his philanthropic gestures in his community, Hon Prince Idris Balogun has proven himself to be a competent and capable leader. His track record of quality leadership is undeniable, as he has consistently prioritized the needs of the people and worked towards achieving tangible results that benefit the community as a whole.

As the 2025 chairmanship elections approach, now is the time to reward Oluomo Kafata for his years of dedicated service and commitment to APC. He has demonstrated his loyalty, perseverance, experience, and quality leadership, and it is only fitting that he is supported and endorsed for the upcoming chairmanship.

With Oluomo at the helm, the future of Egbe Idimu Local Government is in capable and trusted hands.

Sadly, the headquarters of the Christ Embassy Church, located in the Oregun area of Ikeja, Lagos State, reportedly caught fire on Sunday morning.

This was revealed in multiple videos from the scene shared on on Sunday.

Officials of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service are also said to be at the scene in efforts to salvage the situation.

Sharing a video from the location, Augustine tweeting as Chief_Augustin1 on wrote, “Christ Embassy Church on Billings Way, Oregun, is on fire.

“Serious fire is raging, and men of the Lagos State Fire Service are working hard to put it off. Thank God service hasn’t commenced fully.”

Hailing from Buruku Local Government Area of Benue State, Nigeria, Professor Utsev boasts an impressive academic pedigree. He graduated with distinction from the Federal University of Agriculture (now JOSTUM), Makurdi, in 2004, earning a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Civil Engineering with Second Class Honours (Upper Division) as the best student in his cohort. He then pursued advanced studies at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, earning a Master’s degree in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering in 2007 and a PhD in the same field in 2011.

Professor Utsev’s illustrious career spans approximately 17 years, marked by distinguished tenures in academia and the engineering field. He has accumulated a wealth of experience and expertise, earning widespread recognition and acclaim as a consummate administrator and highly esteemed professional. A prolific scholar, he has authored approximately 40 scholarly papers published in esteemed national and international journals, solidifying his standing as a leading authority in his field.

As Minister of Water Resources, Utsev has drawn upon his extensive experience to address flooding and erosion across the country. His academic background and professional expertise have enabled him to devise innovative solutions addressing the root causes of these problems. His leadership has fostered a culture of inclusivity and effectiveness, characterized by a silent intellectual approach focused on results-driven initiatives and collaborative governance.
