A Cry for Help: PNM Demands Immediate Protection for Mrs. Susan Sophia Ogunremi

The Patriotic Now Movement (PNM) expresses grave concern over the repeated and life-threatening attacks on Mrs. Susan Sophia Ogunremi, a Nigerian woman whose ongoing ordeal reflects the broader insecurity and vulnerability faced by innocent citizens across the country. Her case urgently requires the full attention of government authorities and immediate intervention by security agencies.

Verified reports indicate that Mrs. Ogunremi’s family has endured years of targeted assaults allegedly carried out by suspected cult groups. Their ordeal began in Sagamu, Ogun State, where members of the Eiye Confraternity reportedly attacked and killed her husband’s parents and younger brother. This tragedy forced the family to flee in 2022 and seek refuge in Lagos State.

However, safety remained elusive. On 13 April 2022, the family was again attacked along the Igbogbo-Bayeku Road in Ikorodu, Lagos State, by suspected cultists who were believed to have trailed them. Fearing for his life, her husband later relocated abroad in search of safety and stability.

Despite her efforts to rebuild her life quietly, the terror resumed. On 8 November 2025, Mrs. Ogunremi was assaulted yet again—this time in Shomolu, Lagos State—leaving her with a painful shoulder injury. The persistence of these attacks across multiple locations and over several years strongly indicates that she remains under targeted surveillance and imminent threat.

The Patriotic Now Movement finds this situation deeply disturbing and wholly unacceptable. No Nigerian should be abandoned to confront such relentless harassment and danger. Mrs. Ogunremi’s case highlights the urgent need for improved intelligence gathering, swift security response, and coordinated efforts to dismantle violent cult networks nationwide.

In view of these alarming developments, PNM calls on the Federal Government of Nigeria, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Lagos and Ogun State Governments to immediately intervene. We urge them to launch a comprehensive investigation into the attacks, provide adequate security for Mrs. Ogunremi, and ensure that the perpetrators are swiftly apprehended and prosecuted.

PNM also appeals to human rights organisations, civil society groups, and community leaders to amplify this call and stand in solidarity with all Nigerians facing similar threats, especially those who lack the means or platform to seek help. Protecting vulnerable citizens is not only a constitutional duty—it is a moral obligation.

The Patriotic Now Movement reaffirms its unwavering commitment to justice, safety, and the protection of all Nigerians. We maintain that every citizen has the right to live without fear, and we will continue to advocate until cases like this receive the urgent attention and decisive action they deserve.

Olalere Benedict Adetunji

A MEETING OF GENERATIONS: BURATAI HONOURS HERO, MAJ GEN MAGORO, AT ACF 25TH ANNIVERSARY

Kaduna, Nigeria – November 22, 2025 —

The 25th Anniversary celebration of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), held from November 20 to 22 in Kaduna, provided a memorable platform for unity, reflection, and the celebration of Northern heritage. One of the most symbolic moments of the event was the emotional reunion between two distinguished military icons whose service spans different eras of Nigeria’s history.

Former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusufu Buratai (Rtd), CFR, met and paid glowing tribute to one of his lifelong heroes, the highly respected Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Magoro (Rtd).

For General Buratai, the encounter was especially meaningful. He described General Magoro as “a general par excellence, an astute and dignified statesman, and a true national hero.” He noted that Magoro’s exemplary service—both in the military and in national leadership—has been a major source of inspiration throughout his own career.

Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Magoro (Rtd) is an iconic figure in Nigeria’s military and political history. A decorated war veteran, he played pivotal command roles during the Nigerian Civil War, earning recognition for his bravery and tactical brilliance. Beyond his military achievements, he also served as Minister of Internal Affairs and later as a Senator in the Second Assembly. He is the esteemed Mutawallen Kebbi, a title that reflects his honour, integrity, and deep-rooted influence within his community.

The ACF’s silver jubilee offered a fitting setting for this historic meeting, as both generals exchanged warm pleasantries and rekindled the spirit of brotherhood and professional camaraderie that binds those who have served the nation at the highest levels.

The encounter between Buratai and Magoro stands as a testament to the ACF’s enduring role as a unifying platform where Northern leaders converge to reflect, engage, and preserve the legacies that continue to shape Nigeria’s future.
