Ago Police SO detained over money extortion in Lagos

Covid-19 lockdown Lagos State Police Command have recorded no fewer than 15 officers involved in unproffessional conduct and money extortion within the state metropolis
The command announced the arrest of an Inspector mentioned in said video on social media where he was captured counting N40,000 he extorted from the owner of a vehicle he impounded for violating restriction of movement order.
DSP Bala Elkana, command Spokesperson said in press released issuse that after analysing the video, the culprit was identified and arrested. He is Inspector Taloju Martin attached to Ago Police Station as Station Officer (SO). Also the complainant has been identified.
The money extorted from the complainant is recovered and handed over to the owner by the Commissioner of Police adding that the Commissioner of Police Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu has ordered the Deputy Commissioner of Police in Charge of Criminal Investigation to carry out an in depth investigation into the activities of Ago Police Station as a whole.
Bala said the Inspector has been handed over to Provost Marshall for Orderly Room Trials adding that Commissioner of Police has reaffirmed his stance against corrupt practices and impunity.
According to him,after concluded the members of the public will be updated on the outcome of the investigation.
