Audacity; Niger Ambassador to France says Nobody can sack her

Audacity; Niger Ambassador to France says Nobody can sack her

“I am still the ambassador of the legitimate President Bazoum Mohamed and I consider myself such,” she said in an interview to the AFP.

The Putchists’ notification “to terminate (my) duties is considered null and unavoidable. It was taken by an illegitimate power. I am the ambassador of Niger in France,” hammered the diplomat, serving in France since December 2021.

On Thursday evening, the military perpetrators of a coup in Niger announced an “end” to Niger’s ambassadors in France, the United States, Nigeria, and Togo in a statement read on national television, as pressure to restore constitutional order in Niger multiply internationally.

“He has terminated the duties of extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassadors of the Republic of Niger (… ) to the French Republic”, “Nigeria”, to “the Togola Republic” and “to the United States”, said one of the Putschists.

Aïchatou Boulama Kané specifies that he has received this “by letter” notification, in which the Putchists appoint a business manager to replace her, in this case, the first adviser of the Embassy of Niger in France.

“I informed the first adviser that I reject this decision,” the ambassador told the AFP on Friday.

“I am currently in my office; President Bazoum called me yesterday to tell me +go to your office, you have my trust and we will continue the work+,” she reported.

“It’s only him (Mohamed Bazoum) that I recognize, he’s the one who nominated me to President Macron, I stay and remain his ambassador in France,” she added.

Defamation: Halima Abubakar sues AGN President, Emeka Rollas
…seeks N3billion damages

Popular actress and philanthropist, Halima Abubakar has taken legal action against the national president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Emeka Rollas.

Recall that on 17 October, 2024, Rollas released a statement on his social media handle, purportedly claiming that Abubakar has been suspended indefinitely from the AGN. The statement claimed that Abubakar was “behind the most slandering information on members (AGN) especially news of extra marital affairs linked with highly placed individuals in the society which emanates from the industry…”

Halima Abubakar said she was baffled by the allegations because she never received any calls or questions from AGN until she saw the news of her purported suspension on social media.

Meanwhile, in response, the solicitors to Abubakar, P.D. Pius & Associates in a letter dated 20 October, 2024, noted that the false narrative by Emeka Rollas was “to deliberately paint Abubakar in a bad light, cast aspersions on her, denigrate her and stir up social opprobrium against her.”

“You are well aware that our client has been battling with her health for years and despite professional relationship, you chose this delicate moment of recovery for our client to push your negative and false narrative about our client in order to arrest her health recovery process, cause her emotional and psychological pain and damage her reputation before right thinking members of the society.

“You should immediately takedown the publication and tender an unreserved public apology to our client via your Instagram page. Cease and desist from any further false publication against our client. Pay the N3 billion to our client for damaging her reputation.

“Note that unless you comply with the above demands within 7 days, we have our client’s instructions to take appropriate legal action against you.”

Otse had been invited to answer questions over the viral leaked audio recordings in which Bobrisky allegedly admitted to bribing officials of the prisons, to avoid imprisonment.

The recordings also implicated Bobrisky in a money laundering case that was allegedly dropped by the EFCC.

“Bobrisky was arrested this morning at the Seme border while trying to enter the Benin Republic to escape the current investigation by the House of Reps.

“He is allegedly being held by Nigerian immigration. Let’s wait for Bob to debunk this,” Otse said.
