2face foundation, owned by singer 2face Idibia who is part of the organizers of the February 6th nationwide protest, says they are in talks with the Lagos state police command and that the police hasn’t told them they are banning the protest.

Speaking exclusively to LIB this morning, 2face’s manager and an executive of 2face foundation, Efe Omoroge, said the police has not informed them that the planned protest has been banned.

“We have reached out to them. We are having conversations with them. I am not sure the news making the rounds about the protest is true. The feedback from the police authorities is quite different from that. I am not sure about the source of the police story and how true it is. The police has not told us they are banning the protest. We are in talks with them. They have not communicated that to us either in words, written form or body language. Maybe you should reach out to the police authorities to clarify their stance but on behalf of the 2face foundation, we do not think that is true because that is not the feedback we have received. We do not think the police will be telling us one thing and will be telling the media something else”he said

Asked if they have requested for a protest permit, Omorogbe said

“We are actively engaging the police. Our protest is a controlled conversation. Our objectives are clear. 2baba is a peace ambassador. The 2face foundation’s primary focus is peace building and advocating for good governance. The protest is a citizens engagement. It is not an organized labor conversation. It is not pro or against anybody or religion. It is unrepresented”he said

Reacting to Blackface and other persons attacking the planned protest, Omorogbe said

“Freedom of speech. It is a free country. The way I have the right to say the sun is quite high and I am feeling hot is the same way someone has the right to say the sun is quite high but I am cold”.

Award-winning actress, Juliet Ibrahim has joined the prestigious group of brand ambassadors of telecommunications giant, Globacom.

Globacom disclosed this in a press statement today announcing that they have inducted four ambassadors, Juliet Ibrahim, Olamide, Timaya and Joselyn Dumas into the exclusive Hall of Fame for Globacom’s brand icons.

The new ambassadors would be joining the likes of stand-up comedians Basketmouth and Bovi Ugboma; Reekado Banks, Korede Bello, Hadizah Blell (Di’ja), Patience Ozokwor popularly called Mama G, Omawumi, Ego, Yvonne Nelson, MI. and other mega-stars in the elite group.

Juliet Ibrahim is an actress, film producer, director, singer , entrepreneur and humanitarian of Lebanese, Liberian and Ghanaian descent.   Juliet Ibrahim, a multilinguist who speaks English, French and Spanish is described as one of the prettiest female faces in Africa. The multiple award-winning actress who started acting over 10 years ago has over 100 movie features to her credit.

Apart from acting and managing her production outfit, She also runs Juliet Ibrahim Foundation (JIF) which was launched in December 2011 to start an awareness campaign to help Ghanaians, Nigerians and other West African citizens to know their status and prevent kidney cancer and other kidney related ailments from getting to the incurable stage.

She is a multiple award winner who has over the years garnered several awards for her outstanding achievements in the movie industry as well as her humanitarian services.

She is a strong advocate for the fight against Ebola, a cause she’s so bent on achieving and she even has an audio and video awareness song on the killer virus.

Juliet is also a compere who stunned the world recently when she co-hosted the world famous CAF Awards in January 2016 where she dazzled as she spoke English and French exhibiting the extent of the reach of football across the globe.

The Lagos state police commissioner, Fatai Owoseni, says that the state police command might stop the February 6th planned protest in Lagos state because information reaching them suggests that some hoodlums are planning to hijack the protest. According to Owoseni, the organizers of the protest in Lagos have not notified the police about it yet.

Speaking to newsmen in Lagos yesterday, Owoseni said
“Information reaching us revealed that some hoodlums are planning to hijack the peaceful protest. And as such, we won’t allow it to hold in Lagos. We know that Tuface do not have the capacity to contain such a crowd and we will not fold our hands and watch while things go out of hand.”
