Covid-19: Reps Deputy Minority Whip, Adekoya Empowers 400 Market Women, 200 Youths In Ogun

Yes, Nigeria and many other countries of the world are currently going through hardtimes occasioned by the dreaded COVID-19, especially as it is revisiting us for the second time this year alone. Economic climate is made harsher by the fall in global crude oil prices. No one can tell when it will all end.

However, for some 400 market women, and 200 youths from across Ogun state, they can heave a sigh of relief because Rt. Hon. Adekoya Adesegun Abdel-Majid (ATTACKER), the Honorable representing Ijebu North/Ijebu East/Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency, who knows where the shoes pinch his people has made possible a life-changing empowerment initiative for these groups.

The program is for Market Women and Youths across Ogun State.
400 Market Women
200 Youths nominated by SUG of the 14 Public Tertiary Institutions in Ogun State and Ogun State Chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN)

Today, Tuesday, 15th December, 2020, nothing less than 600 participants who are not limited to his Federal Constituency will be trained on how best to expand their financial base as market women. This training will be supported with cash facility, mobile phones and wallets. At least 400 market women will be beneficiaries in the first instance as others will be captured in the second phase come January, 2021.

For the 200 youths who are members of the National Youth Council of Nigeria across the state, and students of 14 public tertiary institutions across the state, Google, will be training them in:

Google Digital skill training

Vocational Courses in

– Graphic /Website design
-Video Editing
-Social media Marketing
-Recharge Card Printing and Selling
-Coding.

The youths will go home after the training with brand new laptops and each loaded with ₦10,000 worth of data as start up support.

Come January 2021, the second phase of the youth empowerment programme will also be activated.

This ongoing empowerment initiative is one of the initial five (5) other ones that have earlier been completed for various categories of vocations for women and youths. The current one ends on Friday 18th December, 2020.

COVID-19 protocols have compelled the organizers to schedule the training into two phases: now and 2021 as there is need to comply with the rules guiding social gathering.

Rt. Hon. Adekoya Adesegun Abdel-Majid, the Deputy Minority Whip, wishes and hopes that trainees and beneficiaries will make positive and meaningful use of the empowerment initiative to become employers of labour and expand the scope of economic buoyancy for all.

2027 Ondo North Senate: ATM secures Backing of Monarchs, Chiefs

APC Senatorial aspirant for Ondo North, Abdul Tunji Mohammed, popularly known as ATM, received a resounding endorsement on Thursday during a high-profile visit to Ikare-Akoko.

The endorsement came from the Olukare of Ikare, His Royal Majesty Oba Akadiri Momoh IV, the Owa Ale of Ikare, His Royal Majesty Oba Adeleke Adedoyin, and the Ikare Council of Chiefs, who described ATM as a credible son of the soil with the capacity to represent Ondo North effectively at the Senate.

Speaking at the palace, the Olukare commended ATM for his consistent engagement with the people and his track record in business and community development. “We have watched your contributions to Ondo North over the years.
