George Weah, Eminent Personalities Commission Primate Elijah Ayodele’s Ultra-Modern Church Auditorium

The former President of Liberia, George Weah, along with several notable figures including former Deputy Governor of Edo State, Phillip Shaibu, Nigeria Football Federation President Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau, Oniworo of Iworo Kingdom Oba Oladele Kosoko, Onisabe of Igbobi-Sabe Oba Owolabi Adeniyi, and UN representatives, commissioned the ultra-modern church auditorium of Primate Elijah Ayodele on Thursday, February 13, 2025.

The event witnessed a large gathering of dignitaries from across the globe who came to celebrate God’s blessings upon Primate Ayodele. The new church auditorium, with a seating capacity of about 10,000, was completed in just one year following divine instruction to expand the worship center. The commissioning ceremony is part of Primate Ayodele’s annual thanksgiving programme, which began in January and will conclude tomorrow.

During the commissioning, George Weah expressed his deep respect and gratitude to Primate Ayodele, whom he referred to as his spiritual father. He described the opportunity to commission the house of the Lord as a significant blessing and assured the church of his unwavering support.

“I am honoured to join you here today for the commissioning of this cathedral and the groundbreaking for an estate. This demonstrates our collective gratitude to God for the blessings he has bestowed upon us. The Bible teaches us that it is not enough to follow God’s commands but to be actively involved in the act of teaching others and those who embark on such a spiritual journey will be considered great.

Primate Ayodele is a great man of God. There is nowhere else I would rather be today but here with God’s people. This is the least I can give back for all the blessings I have received. I want to assure the congregation of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church of my unwavering support. Primate Ayodele and INRI Church, I am excited about this, thank you Primate, my father, I sincerely appreciate this, and we are eternally grateful. I dedicate this cathedral in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. May the almighty God bless us.”

George Weah presented a gift to Primate Ayodele to appreciate his influence and positive impact on his life and the lives of many others. Primate Ayodele, in turn, spoke highly of Weah and handed over Liberia’s flag to him as a symbolic gesture of his return to power. He openly declared Weah as the incoming President of Liberia and presented him with a gift as a token of appreciation.

Former Deputy Governor of Edo State, Phillip Shaibu, also praised Primate Ayodele’s generosity and vision. He expressed his surprise at being invited despite no longer holding public office, calling the invitation a testament to the Primate’s genuine love and care for all.

“Primate Ayodele is a man of God that I have always admired, and I am very proud and elated to be invited to this programme. It is only when you are in power that you get invitations like this, but when this comes even when you are out of power, it shows true love. Just today, he gave scholarships to people, JAMB, and WAEC forms, and I thank God and appreciate him for all he does for society. I pray that God continues to bless him.”

The ceremony also included the groundbreaking of a residential estate and mosque, led by George Weah.

As part of Primate Ayodele’s well-known philanthropic initiatives, the commissioning was accompanied by multiple empowerment activities for students, business owners, journalists, church members, and widows. About 25 secondary school students were provided with JAMB and WAEC forms, and several received scholarships for university studies. Two vehicles were also gifted—one to a church member, Ayo Babalola, and another to journalist Ayodele Dedeigbo, the publisher of Town Crier News.

The grand commissioning underscored Primate Ayodele’s unwavering commitment to philanthropy and the spiritual upliftment of his community. The event concluded with prayers and blessings for continued progress and prosperity for all attendees.

Panic as Late Singer’s Mother Cries Out Over Alleged Kidnap of Son After Court Appearance

Lagos was thrown into panic on Wednesday after the mother of the late singer, Abosede Aloba, raised an alarm over the alleged abduction of her son, Adura, by unknown gunmen. The incident, which took place outside the Magistrates’ Court in Ogba, has sparked outrage and concerns over the safety of individuals involved in legal disputes.

According to eyewitnesses, Adura was forcefully taken away by unidentified armed men immediately after leaving the court premises. Speculation is rife that the abductors may be law enforcement officers acting under undisclosed directives.

Reports indicate that Adura was at the court over a dispute with Damola Ayinde regarding the sale of a mobile phone. The legal battle, however, escalated into a broader case involving actor Yomi Fabiyi, Damola Ayinde, and other parties.

Mother’s Cry for Help

Following Adura’s sudden disappearance, his distressed mother, Abosede Aloba, was seen in a car weeping and calling for assistance. In an emotional outburst captured on video, she accused actor Yomi Fabiyi and another individual, Sam Jojo, of orchestrating the abduction.

“Please help me, people of God! It’s Yomi Fabiyi. They’ve taken my son, and I don’t know where they’re taking him,” she lamented.

Abosede further alleged that Adura was not in good health at the time of his abduction, raising fears about his well-being and safety.

Public Outcry and Calls for Investigation

The alleged abduction has ignited public outrage, with concerned citizens and human rights activists calling on the Lagos State Police Command to immediately investigate the incident and ensure Adura’s safe return.

So far, neither the police nor the accused individuals have issued official statements regarding the allegations. However, the growing tension surrounding the case has intensified calls for justice and transparency.

As of press time, efforts to reach Adura’s family for further updates have been unsuccessful. The situation remains fluid, with many awaiting clarification on the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.

Meet Vice Admiral Ibas: The Military Strategist Now Governing Rivers State

Rivers State Under New Command: Can Ibas Steady the Ship?

Following the suspension of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy, Ngozi Odu, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas  (rtd.) as the Sole Administrator of Rivers State.

With decades of military leadership, strategic governance, and maritime security expertise, Ibas is stepping into a politically charged role to stabilize governance and restore order in the oil-rich state.

Who is Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas?

Born on September 27, 1960, in Cross River State, Ibas has built an impressive career in the Nigerian Navy, holding several key military and administrative positions before retiring as the 22nd Chief of the Naval Staff (2015–2021).

He joined the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) in 1979 as part of the 26 Regular Course, earning his commission as a Sub-Lieutenant in 1983. Over the years, he gained extensive military training and strategic expertise:

  • Master’s in Defence & Strategic Studies – Quaid-i-Azam University, Pakistan
  • Amphibious Warfare Training – United States Marine Corps, Virginia
  • Underwater Warfare Specialist – NNS Quorra, Nigeria
  • Primary Pilot Training – Nigerian Air Force Base, Kaduna
  • Command & Staff College Graduate – Jaji, Nigeria

A Decorated Military Strategist

Throughout his naval career, Ibas served in various leadership roles, including:

  • Commander, Naval Air Base, Ojo (2006–2009)
  • Flag Officer Commanding, Western Naval Command (2013–2014)
  • Chief of Logistics, Naval Headquarters (2014)
  • General Managing Director/CEO, Nigerian Navy Holdings Ltd.
  • Chief of the Naval Staff (2015–2021)

As Chief of the Naval Staff, he played a key role in enhancing Nigeria’s maritime security, combating oil theft, and modernizing the Navy’s fleet. His tenure was marked by strategic reforms aimed at curbing piracy and securing Nigeria’s vast coastal waters.

What His Appointment Means for Rivers State

With his deep-rooted experience in leadership and crisis management, Ibas’ appointment as Rivers State Sole Administrator signals a firm, security-conscious approach to governance. His role will focus on:

  • Restoring political stability amid ongoing tensions
  • Ensuring security and economic continuity in the state
  • Maintaining order during the six-month suspension period

While his appointment has sparked mixed reactions, many view his military background as a strong asset in handling the volatile political climate in Rivers State.

As one of the most experienced security experts in Nigeria, Ibas now faces the challenging task of navigating Rivers State through a politically sensitive period.

Will he succeed in bringing stability, or will his appointment fuel further controversy? The coming months will reveal how the ex-Naval chief steers the ship in one of Nigeria’s most politically complex states.

Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, is making it clear—his self-confidence is not up for debate! The “Calm Down” hitmaker has fired back at critics who took issue with his recent bold claim of being among Afrobeats’ greatest artists.

In an explosive interview with Rolling Stone, Rema doubled down on his stance, insisting that acknowledging his greatness is not arrogance but a reflection of years of grit, hard work, and undeniable success.

“Why Should I Dim My Light?” – Rema Questions Critics

The 24-year-old superstar was unapologetic in addressing the backlash, challenging the notion that self-assurance should be seen as a negative trait.

His words sent shockwaves through the Afrobeats community, with fans and critics alike debating his bold self-affirmation. But for Rema, there’s no room for doubt—he has earned his place at the top.

“I’m Not Dissing Anyone – I Vouch for Afrobeats Unity!”
