How Pro Kingsley prophesied Saint Obi, Murphy Afolabi’s Death

Barely 24 hours after the death of a popular Nollywood actor, Saint Obi, a Yoruba popular actor and filmmaker, Murphy Afolabi, is reportedly dead.

The thespian, who acted in Yoruba movies, was said to have fallen down in the bathroom at his house in Ikorodu, Lagos, on Sunday morning, May 14, 2023.

Sadly, the unfortunate incident which befell the movie industry was foretold by Prophet Kingsley Aitafo during his annual predictions for the year. Her gave a prophetic warning that these actors need serious prayers in 2023 against untimely death,

Also, last month he reiterated the warning saying he saw a very popular yoruba actor dead.

A filmmaker and the president of the Yoruba movies directors guild, Seun Olaiya, shared the sad news of Murphy’s death  on a WhatsApp platform populated by filmmakers.

Actor Saint Obi Dies At 57

He was corroborated by the Managing Director of the popular movie marketing company, Corporate Pictures Nigeria Limited, Abdullahi Abdulrasaq.

Olaiya wrote, “I swear to God just before the news, I was still hailing him. This is really a rude shock to me.”

Showbiz personality and the convener of the Best of Nollywood Awards, Seun Oloketuyi, also confirmed the news to our correspondent. He said, “It is true. He passed away after taking a fall in his bathroom at his house in Ikorodu this morning.”

National Orientation Agency takes National Values Charter to Lagos Animation Festival

The Director General of National Orientation Agency Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu has taken the Agency’s campaign on its recently launched National Values Charter to the Lagos International Festival of Animation, LIFANIMA.

Speaking to more than 120 children during the festival’s Kids’ Fun Day at Animation Park, the DG told the children to imbibe positive habits and commit to being good children so they can grow up to being exemplary citizens.

After the children’s flawless rendition of all three stanzas of the nation anthem, the obviously elated DG said he had confidence that the nation’s future is secured.

At the festival’s Animation Awards which later on the same day, the DG explained the vision and objectives behind the new Federal Government Policy of Nationalisation of Cartoon Content, to stem the current trend which shows that we are breeding new generations of ‘foreigners’, due to the overwhelming influence of foreign cartoons on our children and the disconnection with our core values as a people.

For According to him, animation has become a significant tool for government communication especially as it targets the more than 75 percent youth population of our country. He explained that Nigerian animators could also use this opportunity to tap into the huge budgetary allocation for communication by government at various levels across the various MDAs, noting that the Agency is ready to work with animators.

The founder and festival director of LIFANIMA, Mr. Muyiwa Kayode in his opening remarks explained that the festival began in 2016 after the launch of his animation brand “Turtle Taido” in 2015 which made it the first animated cartoon series for children on Nigerian television. The series had since given birth to the Turtle Taido Game Show which is currently airing Season 6.

LIFANIMA is Nigeria’s premier animation film festival and now one of the top three in Africa. The 2024 edition had 1,106 submissions from 111 countries including 26 African countries.

Mustapha Ololade Sholagbade, born on January 1, 1989, in Ebute Metta, Lagos, is an accomplished Nigerian actor, producer, and filmmaker with a deep passion for Yoruba cinema. Originally from Abeokuta, Ogun State, he is the first child in his family. Sholagbade began his education at Kadara Primary School and continued at Sojomen Talabi High School, Akute, and Nawairudeen Secondary School, Ebute Metta. He later earned an Ordinary Narional Diploma in Business Administration from the Lagos State Polytechnic. Pursuing his passion for acting, he trained at Odunfa Caucus, where he graduated in 2010.

Sholagbade launched his acting career in 2005, making a name for himself in Yoruba-language films. His portfolio includes roles in popular films like Olowo Ghetto, Alaimo, Ebun Mi, Esi, Gold and Treasure, Liam, Emilomo Babaolowo, Oko Aunty Mi, Broken Bond (Tude), and Last Born. In addition to acting, he has also produced several films, further cementing his influence in the industry.

Beyond the entertainment world, Sholagbade is a versatile professional with experience in railway engineering, IT support, and site management in the UK. He is also a farmer and general merchant, demonstrating his entrepreneurial spirit and diverse skill set.
