Husband Pours Hot Oil On His wife
A young mother of three children has suffered a high degree of burns on the upper part of her body, after her husband poured hot cooking oil on her last Tuesday while she was frying Akara balls (bean cake) at Umuawulu in Awka South Local Government Area.
Narrating her ordeal, the victim Mrs Njideka Okoye, a native of Umuawulu said that on that fateful day, while she was busy frying her Akara for sale, her husband stormed into her kiosk and demanded why she had not prepared his meal.
When she told him that the person she sent to buy food stuff had not returned, he became angry and pounced on her beating her mercilessly.
According to Mrs Okoye, she left the husband and continued frying Akara only for the husband to kick the fry-pan, splashing the hot oil on her face and other parts of her body.
She alleged that her husband always beat her up which made her run back to her parents, adding that it was last December that they reconciled before this terrible incident.
Mrs Okoye appealed for assistance to enable her foot her hospital bill and called on the relevant authorities to come to her aid before her husband kills her.
Reacting to the matter, a native of the community, Mr Matthew Nwoji, while expressing shock on the degree of injury inflicted on the woman called on the security operatives to step into the matter before it is too late.
