The Operatives of the Criminal Investigative Bureau Unit (CIB), Lagos State Police Command, in the early hours of Friday, arrested notorious land grabbers, Moshood Andu, Kazeem Omotosho aka Idiagbon and Adegbenga Alayinde aka Ndaso and 12 others allegedly terrorising Gberigbe and its environs Igbogbo/Bayuke Local Government Area of the state.
A source within the community informed our correspondent that Moshood was arrested around 5am at Anibaba Oke Ota-Ona area, Ikorodu, following a petition written by the Gberigbe Orelade Royal family while Adegbenga and Kazeem were arrested at different locations within Ikorodu axis.
The source said the petition contained an allegation that Moshood and his accomplice sponsored hoodlums that have been terrorizing the Gberigbe Orelade, Agure and Igbokuta community for over a year of which many families and residents lost their properties from the attacks.
Our correspondent gathered that about five persons sustained gun injury while 11 person lost their lives, while nine are missing.
It was further learnt that the command operatives conducted a special operation which led to the arrest of the prime suspects alongside twelve others
The source said the 72-year-old Moshood had been on the watchlist of various security agencies in the state.
The families who fled from their homes are pleading with the commissioner of police for proper investigation.
While the families of the deceased person whose corpse are still missing need the bodies of their dear ones for further burial rite.
