Please introduce yourself?

My name is Paul Joe, and I am the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Bubez Productions Limited. I’m passionate about promoting African culture through entertainment and media, and I’m deeply committed to creating platforms that celebrate diversity, creativity, and unity.

Tell us something about Bubez Productions Limited.

Bubez Productions Limited is a multimedia and event production company dedicated to curating and showcasing authentic African talent across music, comedy, dance, and fashion. We specialize in organizing large-scale cultural events, particularly aimed at celebrating African heritage within the diaspora and beyond. Our flagship event, Afro Explosion, is one of our proudest achievements.

AFRO EXPLOSION ENTERTAINMENT WEAVED IN CULTURAL HERITAGE – PAUL JOE

How did you start and what’s your dream for it?

It started from a vision to create a space where African creatives could thrive and be celebrated on international platforms. I noticed a gap in representation and decided to take a step—what began as a modest event has evolved into a cultural movement. The dream is to make Bubez Productions a global hub for Afro-centric entertainment, bridging the gap between Africa and the world.

What led you into showbiz and entertainment?

Growing up, I was always captivated by music, stage performances, and storytelling. I realized early on that entertainment had the power to connect people across borders. That passion, coupled with the desire to showcase African excellence, pulled me into the showbiz world.

AFRO EXPLOSION ENTERTAINMENT WEAVED IN CULTURAL HERITAGE – PAUL JOE

How did you manage to cut your teeth in the ever-competitive industry?

Persistence, relationship-building, and staying true to our brand. We started small, proved our consistency, and maintained quality. Every project became a stepping stone. We earned trust by delivering unique experiences and making sure our events stood out.

AFRO EXPLOSION ENTERTAINMENT WEAVED IN CULTURAL HERITAGE – PAUL JOE

What year did the Afro Explosion start?

Afro Explosion started in 2025, It was born from a desire to give the African community in the UK something authentic to identify with and to create platforms for upcoming Afrobeat artists to showcase themselves and collaborate with experienced musicians to promote their work.

What was the motivation for it?

The motivation was twofold: to celebrate African culture in its full vibrancy and to create a networking and performance platform for emerging African creatives. I wanted to bring the sights, sounds, and soul of Africa to the heart of the UK.

AFRO EXPLOSION ENTERTAINMENT WEAVED IN CULTURAL HERITAGE – PAUL JOE

How would you rate the acceptability at the beginning?

It was modest at first but encouraging. People were curious, excited, and supportive. That gave us the momentum to keep going and grow stronger each year.

Tell us the challenges attributed to hosting the Afro Explosion.

AFRO EXPLOSION ENTERTAINMENT WEAVED IN CULTURAL HERITAGE – PAUL JOE

Challenges included funding, logistics, securing venues, visa issues for international acts, and balancing cultural expectations with mainstream standards. But every obstacle pushed us to be more innovative.

How were you able to connect with your sponsors?

We focused on building trust and a clear brand. We showed our value through past events and audience engagement. Once potential sponsors saw the quality and reach, it became easier to align on mutual goals.

Is Afro Explosion only for residents of Liverpool alone, or are other people from other provinces welcome?

Afro Explosion is for everyone! While it started in Liverpool, we’ve had attendees from Manchester, Birmingham, London, and even outside the UK. It’s a cultural celebration open to all.

How do you handle artists and event organizers’ disputes?

Clear contracts, open communication, and mutual respect. We ensure everyone understands expectations upfront and have systems in place for quick conflict resolution if anything arises.

Do you see Afro Explosion competing favorably with any other events of such globally shortly?

Absolutely. We’re laying the foundation for Afro Explosion to become a global cultural brand. With consistent quality, innovation, and authenticity, we believe we can stand tall on the global stage.

Saheed Osupa Launches Fuji Music Camp to Mentor, Preserve and Promote Fuji Genre

Saheed Osupa Launches Fuji Music Camp to Mentor, Preserve and Promote Fuji Genre

Saheed Osupa Launches Fuji Music Camp to Mentor, Preserve and Promote Fuji Genre

In a laudable move to preserve and promote Fuji music, legendary Fuji icon, King (Dr.) Saheed Osupa, has established a dedicated Fuji Music Camp — a structured initiative aimed at grooming the next generation of Fuji artists, regardless of their style or sub-genre.

Saheed Osupa Launches Fuji Music Camp to Mentor, Preserve and Promote Fuji Genre

This visionary step seeks to nurture budding Fuji talents, equipping them with the necessary tools, mentorship, and guidance to successfully navigate the ever-evolving Nigerian music industry. It is not only an investment in the future of Fuji music but also a vital response to concerns about the genre’s declining mainstream visibility.

*A Home for All Fuji Styles and Voices*

The camp is designed to be inclusive, welcoming upcoming Fuji artists across all known styles — from classical and Islamic-influenced Fuji to modern infusions of hip-hop Fuji and Apala-Fuji blends. It also builds on the foundational sounds popularized by Fuji greats such as:

K1 De Ultimate (King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal)

Abass Akande Obesere

Adewale Ayuba

Pasuma Wonder

Remi Aluko

Muri Thunder

Taye Currency

Shefiu Alao

Sefiu Agboola (Agbara Orin)

Each of these icons has contributed uniquely to the rich tapestry of Fuji music, and the camp intends to keep that legacy alive by fostering innovation while preserving core traditions.

*A Pillar of Support*:

According to reliable sources, the concept of the Fuji Music Camp was extensively discussed with one of the genre’s most respected figures behind the scenes — Alhaji Arems. A veteran promoter, culture curator, and unwavering supporter of Fuji music, Alhaji Arems has consistently championed initiatives that protect and elevate the genre. His wealth of experience and strategic insight have been instrumental in shaping the vision behind the Fuji Music Camp.

Osupa, known for his lyrical depth, philosophical storytelling, and musical versatility, recognized the need for a structured avenue where talents can be refined, and careers can be molded under credible mentorship. With Alhaji Arems as an adviser and silent engine behind many initiatives, the Fuji Camp is poised to serve as a breeding ground for the genre’s future torchbearers.

*Ensuring Fuji Music Doesn’t Fade*:

At the heart of this initiative lies a bigger purpose — to prevent the extinction of Fuji music. While genres like Afrobeats have gained global momentum, traditional genres like Fuji risk being underrepresented in mainstream narratives. The Fuji Camp is Osupa’s answer to this imbalance: a cultural sanctuary where tradition meets strategy, and where young voices can be groomed to not just carry the Fuji legacy but also expand its influence.

The Fuji Music Camp will reportedly include training sessions, mentorship programs, live performance rehearsals, and songwriting workshops — all geared towards building confident, knowledgeable, and versatile Fuji artists ready for today’s industry demands.

With the Fuji Music Camp, King Saheed Osupa and Alhaji Arems are planting seeds for a renaissance in Fuji music. It is not just a camp — it is a movement. One that recognizes the past, empowers the present, and secures the future of one of Nigeria’s most culturally rich musical genres.

Fuji, as Osupa himself would say, is not just music — it’s wisdom, it’s rhythm, it’s identity.
