Newly appointed Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh has advised Nigerian players plying their trade at big clubs abroad to engineer loan moves to other clubs rather than sitting on the bench all the time.

Speaking in interview with BBC, the former Borussia Dortmund and Juventus midfielder who was asked if it worries him to see Nigeria’s top players rotting on the bench at Chelsea, said “Players not playing regularly at their clubs is a huge problem because they might struggle with the rhythm”.

“I’ve spoken to the majority of the players that may come into the reckoning to play, to be in the first pool of players that we are building. But they have to do something about it.

“They are still young they need to think about playing now and it might not be bad for them to go out on loan and play and maybe get to a level where Chelsea will have them back to play and not just sit and watch.

“The player will decide his fate, it’s not for the national team to impose but I would advise them to play as much as possible.

“They will have to try and play as much as possible.”

Nollywood Legends Face Backlash Over Boat Ride to Movie Set, Fans Fear for Their Safety

A video featuring Nollywood icons Pete Edochie, Nkem Owoh, and Patience Ozokwor being ferried across a body of water to a movie set has ignited a storm of reactions online, with fans expressing deep concerns over the actors’ safety.

The clip, which shows the trio being transported by boat, has sparked a heated debate, with many drawing comparisons to the tragic boat accident that claimed the life of late actor Junior Pope while on his way to a film shoot. Fans are now questioning whether it was wise to transport the legends in such a manner, fearing a similar fate could befall them.

One user, Emotionsdoctor, expressed a strong warning, saying: “I am going to hold your hands and warn you, darling, Never pack our legends in one boat like you did here. Let this be the last time, my love.”

Social media reactions were filled with both humor and worry. @AdannaPapaya joked, “Daddy Pete no wear vest because even the sea is afraid of him 🤭🤭🤭🤭,” while @promiseEzeocha voiced his confusion, “Why is Chief Pete Edochie not wearing a safeguard? I don’t understand. Is that not risky, sir?”

Some comments were more serious, with @Honyfactory urging the authorities to provide safer transportation options, stating: “Abeg, u guys should not be packing up our legends on a boat and risk them like this again. This deal must be very heavy for them to be taking this kind of risk. The state government should provide a chopper for them, please. These people are too valuable to be on water like this.”

In a lighter vein, @chinexo8 remarked on Pete Edochie’s calm demeanor, saying, “Pete Edochie is always chewing kolanut, ah ah, he didn’t even wear a life jacket. Man with the water spirit are in good terms.”

While the comments showcased a mix of concern and humor, one thing was clear: Nollywood fans are deeply invested in the well-being of their beloved stars. As the video continues to circulate, it remains to be seen whether the film industry will take a closer look at the safety protocols for its actors, especially when it comes to potentially risky travel arrangements.

Fans are hopeful that future film productions will prioritize the safety of these icons, who have shaped the Nollywood industry for decades.
