Sahara Weekly Reports That The man in the videos above is Mr. Timothy Agboola, a Community Development Association (CDA) chairman in Mower area of Obafemi-Owode LGA, Ogun State.

Ogun palliatives: When ignorance became an excuse

The community leader has been trending on social media following an earlier online video he released where he picked holes in the palliatives being doled out by the state government through the LGA to the people of the council.

In the first video, Agboola claimed that a 10kg bag of rice was given to his CDA by the LGA to be shared among all the people in the community.

His complaint attracted widespread condemnations on social media with many wondering how such diminutive palliative will go round the multitude of community residents.

However, it turned out that Agboola had raised a false alarm. His claims in the first video weren’t true at all. For a fact, he had wrongly portrayed the laudable palliative efforts of the state government.

According to Agboola himself in a second and third videos he released after the first one, he discovered he goofed in the first video as the 10kg bag of rice he displayed as announced was s meant for his entire community, was actually given to a widow as her own share of the palliatives.

As you can hear in the second and third videos, the CDA chairman, while pleading with all those who shared the first video to please help him to share the others, said he was misinformed, leading to the misleading video he rushed to release on social media.

“I regret making the video. I didn’t mean to tarnish the image of the governments in Ogun state. The bag of rice I displayed on the bonnet of the car and said it was meant for the whole community was actually given to a member of the CDA as her own. It was not meant for the whole CDA as I claimed in the first video.

“Further investigation by me after the first video generated controversies revealed that many bags of rice have been shared in my community while I was away on a journey. The Muslim community already collected some. The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) collected, artisan groups, women groups, youth groups, even the Baale and numerous other groups and persons were all given palliatives. It is part of these that the widow got her own bag.

“I sincerely regret making the first video. I was moved to do it by concern based on the misinformation I earlier got. I apologize seriously for this mistake and I warn those who are twisting the matter into something else to desist. The palliative arrangement in Ogun state is the best I have seen ever,” he recanted.

Definitely, it is always better to look, before leaping. Mr. Agboola must have learnt a valuable lesson from his ordeal as a trending social media subject in the past week.

‘’Hunger Is Making You Go Blind’’ – Analyst Blasts APGA’s Chinedu Obigwe For Tackling Primate Ayodele

A political analyst, John Obuchi has blasted the National Coordinator, All Progressives Grand Alliance Media Warriors Forum, Mr Chinedu Obigwe for his recent media attacks against popular Nigerian prophet, Primate Elijah Ayodele over his prophecies regarding Anambra 2025 governorship election.

Hunger Is Making You Go Blind’’ – Analyst Blasts APGA’s Chinedu Obigwe For Tackling Primate Ayodele

Primate Ayodele had revealed that a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah can unseat Governor Charles Soludo and prevent him from getting a second term in office if care isn’t taken. The prophet warned Soludo to be wary of mistakes that can make his government become unpopular.

In two different publications, Chinedu Obigwe in his reaction to Primate Ayodele’s prophecies rubbished the prophet and described him as a ‘Cash and Carry’ man of God. He went as far as mentioning that Primate Ayodele is acting as Ubah’s campaign manager because of his prophecies about the senator’s governorship ambition.

In a reaction, John Obuchi has described Obigwe as a hungry man who has become blind because of his current predicament of hardship. Obuchi described him as a political dog who is selling himself cheaply because of peanuts and irrelevant political appointments.

‘’It is not always difficult to identify a political dog when you see one but it is very unfortunate when you see intelligent persons sell themselves out unnecessarily because of peanuts or at most, docile political appointments.’’

‘’Chinedu Obigwe, one who claims to be a national coordinator but isn’t known beyond Anambra, has shown with his recent attacks against Primate Ayodele that the current economic hardship has eaten deep into his cognitive reasoning and the fight for his daily bread has affected his sight; he doesn’t see beyond stomach infrastructure. He has proven to be a perfect definition of what we call ‘ebe ọ bụla belle ihu’.’’

Obuchi recalled how Andy Uba’s media team tackled Primate Ayodele for saying their principal will not become governor of Anambra state four years ago, explaining that Soludo’s team is also following the same route that led to the failure of Andy Uba.

‘’I know for sure that his attacks are not alien to Primate Ayodele’s ministry; the man of God received more than these during the last Anambra governorship election from Andy Uba’s media team. They insulted Primate Ayodele for saying their principal’s ambition will be a waste instead of listening to instructions and at the end of the day, Primate Ayodele laughed last because they failed woefully.’’

‘’Just like Andy Uba’s media team, Chinedu Obigwe is setting Charles Soludo up for failure at the 2025 governorship election. Primate Ayodele has only shared a prophetic warning that still has remedy, 2025 is still almost one year from now and the needful can still be done but sponsoring materials in the media against Primate Ayodele is just adding more petrol to the fire, Obigwe ought to know that ‘A na-agwa ntị ma ntị anụghị, e gburu isi ntị esoro ya’; When Charles Soludo loses, he will automatically become jobless.’’

He warned Charles Soludo to do the needful just as Primate Ayodele has warned in order to avoid failure while asking the governor to be careful of Obigwe’s antics to lead him to failure.

‘’Imagine saying Primate Ayodele is a cash and carry prophet, it’s very funny because if only Obigwe knows the capacity this prophet has, he would resign his current position and beg to become Primate Ayodele’s cleaner so he can feed well. People just make some unfounded claims in order to please their paymasters and it is so unfortunate coming from someone who claims to be a media person.’’

‘’I don’t want to say much other than to advise Charles Soludo to do the needful if he still wants to retain his position, Primate Ayodele doesn’t talk if he hasn’t seen anything and going by the records, every of his prophecies come to pass. Obigwe will lead Soludo to the pit if care isn’t taken. There is still time to retrace your steps, I rest my case.’’

NANS Condemns the Brutal Attack on KWASU Students by Men of the EFCC, NDLEA and NPF; Calls for Justice

SUSPEND, PROSECUTE, AND KICK OUT MINISTERS, AIDES WITH PENDING CORRUPTION CHARGES AND VALIDATED ALLEGATIONS NANS URGES PRESIDENT TINUBU,

NANS Condemns the Brutal Attack on KWASU Students by Men of the EFCC, NDLEA and NPF; Calls for Justice

The national body of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) expresses profound dismay and unequivocally condemns the reprehensible and brutal attack unleashed upon the students of Kwara State University, (KWASU) Malete, by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) during midnights operations on Tuesday 20th February, 2024 and Thursday 21st February 2024 respectively.

In direct contravention of the clear directive from the Chairman of EFCC prohibiting midnight operations, The men of EFCC Kwara State command went ahead to carry out an illegal operation in the KWASU students community on the night of Tuesday, 20th February 2024 arrested students and questioned the sources of their wealth without due invitation or following the laid down principle for such operation. It is commendable that the students of the institution valiantly opposed the unauthorized intrusion into their academic environment at the odd hours of the night.

Regrettably, the security operatives (EFCC , NDLEA and NPF) responded and revisited with excessive force, resorting to the deployment of teargas and live ammunition, reportedly resulting in leaving the students with severe injuries.

The NANS National body, while appreciating the doggedness of the school’s students’ union, the audacity of the Kwara JCC categorically condemns this flagrant violation of the fundamental rights of students and demands immediate and resolute action from the authorities concerned. We hereby articulate our comprehensive demands as follow;

1. *Independent Investigation:* We call for an impartial and transparent investigation into the incident, ensuring the full cooperation of all involved agencies and guaranteeing the thorough examination of the circumstances surrounding the brutal attack.

2. *Identification and sanctions of Officers:* We demand the prompt disclosure of the identities of the officers involved in the ill-fated operation to facilitate accountability, necessary disciplinary actions and serve as a deterrent against future transgressions.

3. *Compensation and Medical Support:* Immediate and adequate compensation must be provided to the families of the deceased students, and comprehensive medical support should be extended to those who sustained injuries during the reprehensible attack.

4. *Adherence to Ban on Midnight Operations:* We emphasize the need for strict compliance with the directive from the EFCC Chairman, who prohibited midnight operations. Any deviation from this directive should be met with severe disciplinary measures, else the students will result to jungle justice of treating them as criminals henceforth.

NANS National underscores the urgency of addressing these demands and we are issuing a 48 hour ultimatum for our demands to be addressed. We also call on the relevant authorities to act swiftly and decisively. We insist on justice for the victims and accountability for the perpetrators. NANS National will not shiver in its commitment to safeguarding the rights and well-being of Nigerian students.

We implore all concerned stakeholders, including human rights organizations, civil society, and the media, to stand in solidarity with us as we seek justice and redress for the victims of this heinous act.

*Signed,*

Comrade Ekundina Segun Elvis
NANS National Senate President
